What did you make of the younger players? Which ones do you think have potential? Also how did Denton & Eastwood play?

Spencer Harris looks decent but no where near ready for first team. Sometime hangs on to the ball for too long.
Eastwood looked quality and wouldnt worry about him making the step up.
Dan Codman wont make it at town
Jack Hunt not quite good enough either
Lewis Nightingale came on for 10 minutes and looks a bit special.
Leigh Franks looks like he could be a good centre back. Solid and doesn't look to hoof it which is a bonus.
Denton can head it and thats it, total waste of 60k

Eastwood certainly looked a hell of a lot more assured in goal than he did before his loan spell at Woking, whilst Denton doesn't seem to have learned anything in his time there.

I know Toms dad really well from football and school years ago, Im pleased for the lad that Stan saw fit to buy him and give him a contract . It seems like he is miles from first team as people are saying.... if Warnock and Blackburn were so keen on him what is it they saw in him then ?

He'll be back at Wakefield by the start of next season I reckon. They must still be laughing at the fact Stan paid out that kind of money for him.

Spencer Harris: Pilkingtons double, looked decent Leigh Franks: Up against Conlon and Rory Boulding, did well(but they are shite!! ) Tom Denton: Won most of his aerial duals but nowhere near first team yet. Jack Hunt: Did ok but their left back was their best player. Lewis Nightingale:Came on as sub in centre mid and looks a great player but is very very small. Dan Codman:Bit older than others and think he will be on released list at end of season. Simon Eastwood:Great game. Took everything cleanly, good distribution and a cracking penalty save to boot. Think he will get a deal. Didn't really have long enough to judge other lads who came on.

I think keeping Eastwood is a must really. He's obviously benefited a lot from his spell in the BSP and would be capable back up. Plus, reading the programme every week, he seems to be the most popular in the squad by a mile so would be great for morale!

Usual self but was maybe trying a bit harder than he does when i the first team Took his goals well even though two were put on a plate for him. Still lost the ball quite a bit but much improved from recent performances but that wasn't hard given the standard of the game

I used to defend Jevons but you really cant defend his awful return on the goals front. I still think he has something to offer but I think his time here is at its end. Time to move on. Parker did well today in reserves but the opponents were shite to be fair and, as has been mentioned, all 3 were on a plate, 2 from bad defending and one from a great ball from Unsworth but fair play to Parker for finishing them.
I'd still not have Parker or Jevons on bench on saturday.

Got to agree with everything that has been said about the youngsters today - great pen save from Easty, Franks looked decent at the back, Harris didn't look out of place alongside a very good Flynn, Denton good in air, but way off a first team player. Nightingale looked the most impressive in his cameo, though he should be captain of the England very small team. As for the more established players, Unsworth was immense at the back (stop making your own jokes up), though I don't think he ever ran all game! Some of his passing was very good though. Flynn was in total control of midfield and Parker scored a hat-trick without ever looking to try! For them Brandon was poop, though he did score a decent free kick. The highlight for me (apart from meeting Brianstanton, the forum member, not the ex-midfielder) was Brando's inevitable Cruyff turn - in his own box! It's always good to embarrass Sadford though & 2 of their fans at my bus stop were saying that their first team wouldn't have beaten our reserves today - so God help them if they do go up

... Lewis Nightingale:Came on as sub in centre mid and looks a great player but is very very small. ... Would that be Gianfranco Zola small or Maradonna small?

Is maradonna a large version of Zola? Or is nightingale a smaller version of Zola? Mate, he is fecking tiny ... I reckon if he put Denton's shorts on with the waistband around his head, you would still have to turn the bottoms up for him. However, he was always asking for the ball and looked very comfortable on it - but I don't mean he was actually on the ball! (although he probably could have been)

You may not remember an 80s midfielder we had (I am a bit of an old gimmer) called David Cork, but he made Corky look like a giant, but he hads Corky's blonde mop
