He'll be back at Wakefield by the start of next season I reckon. They must still be laughing at the fact Stan paid out that kind of money for him. Wasn't Denton meant to be a 'signing for the future' sort of thing? Keep him training hard and getting match practice in the Reserves? Surely he'll come through in a season or two If not then I'll be more than happy to agree that it was a waste.

I thought Denton turned down more money at Blackburn because he wanted to play for Town instead (let's see if Smithies makes the same decision given the choice of more money at a greed team!).
Personally I'm happy to give Denton chance to develop - he deserves that patience and loyalty IMO because he showed loyalty to Town
I never expected too much from him this season, it's only about 18 months since he was playing local league football. He's come a massive distance in a short space of time at Emley (where he proved himself after making the step up) and then this season has progressed, playing and scoring in the reserves and more impressively in a struggling side in the Conference - scoring is a good knack to have even if he looks gangly. It's a really steep learning curve but there are signs of progress, if he continues his progress in the same vein he could yet be a decent signing in the Kevin Francis mould (the ex-Stockport striker if you remember him)
