How 'major' a overhaul are you talking about? ie, who, out of the full fit starting 11 would you replace? Well the starting 11 is starting to change but i would get rid of Clarke, Holdsworth, Jevons, Williams and Collins, who ill admit are all fairly solid lower league 1 players but are unlikely to contibute to a sustained title challenge that most fans expect next season I would have included Worthington but he looks like he is on his way anyway. Ill concede however that the problem Town have is that the Ternant managed to weaken the squad massively and i suspect that most of the summer will be spent on shifting these players out so Town have no option but to use the core again (which they already have done with Clarke) Surely you are having a laugh? How can he have weakened the squad? Goodwin, Roberts, Butler all regular first teamers, Craney & Flynn very good back up midfielders. Lucketti was the right idea (trying to get us a leader), everyone was shouting to get Unsworth signed up on his pre-season performances, though he hasn't worked out. Parker has been a major disappointment but noone was complaining of signing him at the time. At the same time, the only "name" to go was Mirfin, who we got a more than adequate fee for. If you mean he may have wasted some money on his choice of players, that is a totally different argument. For me, the one thing that Stanley did was to recognise that we needed an overhaul of the club, as we were full of very average players happy to pick up their money. IMO the squad he left was vastly superior to the one he inherited - you just have to look at this year's reserves, compared to last to see how much it has improved.

Craney hardly makes the bench
Lucketti, Flynn and Unsworth dont even do that
Denton is on loan somewhere.
Parker has had millions of chances and scored twice in twenty something games?
Roberts is a good player but inconsistent and Goodwin and Butler are solid enough but shouldnt be guaranteed starters next season
Not a great record when spending 500k and doubling our wage bill i wouldnt say?

Again, read the post properly ... he can only weaken the squad if he replaces better players with worse players! Do I think he spent all the money wisely? No, although I do think some his players are very good, but the original post was about whether he had weakened the squad, which he quite clearly hasn't

You have to factor in how much Tenant spent compared to previous managers though.
Tenent made the squad worse than the squad we had under Richie then Murphy, but the wage bill and squad size is considerably larger!
