See attached link...... www.football-league.co.uk/staticFiles/5c/32/0,,10794~143964,00.pdf We went from £0 on agents in 1 July - 31 December 2007 to £32,000 in 1 July - 31 December 2008. Look at what the Yids have spent on agents - £346,500 and they can't afford a hotel room for the night ;D

No clubs should pay fees to agents. They work for players so players should pay them. Absolute insanity and something clubs could do something about if they really wanted to.

shows how much money agents take out of the game even at lower levels-no wonder the premier league clubs dont want to disclose how much they spend on agents a year-in my eyes they have no place in the game, players etc are more than capable of looking after their own interests without having some agent whos only there to get as much money as possible for themselves, even if its to the detriment of the player they represent-lower league clubs (especially with money harder to come by through sponsorship etc atm) means clubs cant really afford to be forkin out so much money to agents

What if the agents are working for the club? I'd see it like procurement - club approaches the agent and tells them they want a certain type of player, agent then scouts around and offers a few alternatives and then should we sign one of these players then we pay them a commission.

And Luton spent the most in League 2. Not very prudent for a club that seems to jump in and out of administration at will

No wonder they've been in financial difficulties but no doubt promotion will help them out again. Luton were asking for administration with those kind of fee's last season.

Charlton and Southampton are also in a financial mess yet they've still spent £250k on agent fees as well, Charlton spent £750k the previous year. It seems that the more financial mess you're in, the more you spend on agents. Strange lot these football chairmen.

Agents fees - a recipe for disaster. PLAYERS should pay agents fees - NOT clubs.

Agents fees - a recipe for disaster. PLAYERS should pay agents fees - NOT clubs. Agreed, £5.7 million taken out of clubs by agents is far too much money. That's almost £80,000 a season per club, or an above average League 1 players wage.
