I love the line about the ambition and that he "wouldn't have signed if the ambition wasn't there". Course he wouldn't!!!

I am still not convinced with Clarke. Makes far too many errors and gets pulled out of position. Usually responsible for playing someone on side.

I doubt he would have. Baring in mind how many scouts we have at games watching smithies, it won't have gone unnoticed how well hes been playing. Clarke wouldn't have any problems stepping up to a higher level.
Will be due a testamonial before this deal runs out.

Far too many errors??? I'm struggling to think of any! He's been our most consistant player this season. POTS if you ask me.

Personally I think Clarke has been outstanding since Lee Clark came in and provides us with a touch of composure at the back. Delighted he has extended his stay with us.

Glad he's staying with us but can someone superglue his arms to his sides so he can't put them in the air for off-side when it clearly isn't. Yet if we did that we'd lose the long through ins wouldn't we. Ummmm. Decisions, decisions. ;D

Count me in on this one too.He is coming of age and I think we will see his best form over this contract. He will be with us through his best years. As an aside,he is also showing loyalty to the club!!

Absolute legend. Doesn't get the credit he deserves as far as I'm concerned.

Good news. We need another CB to push Clarke and Butler in summer I feel, as competition.

Hes been great this season since he got back in under Turnip. I like Butler but Clarke is the better of the two, especially ability wise. Butler looks like a fish out of water with the ball at his feet.
I think we need someone else for next season too, someone with pace.

His dramatic improvement came long before Turnip put him back in. Id say hes been consistantly good since he didn't have to play alongside Mirfin anymore when Page came in. We do need another option though to push them.

Good to hear that he has signed. He has been by far our POTS for me this season so far.His improvement under GM and LC et al and his partnership with Butler has been immense. This season I`m seeing the NC that I caught a glimpse of before his major injury.

Clarkey is quality and has been for about 14-15 months now. It's such a shame people became disillusioned with him a few years ago when he was playing poorly and seem unwilling to forgive him and can't wait for him to make mistakes - very sad.
He's also coming up to 275 appearances in a Town shirt - could he be one of Towns all time top appearance makers one day?

And not to mention he has had a few campaigns when he was seriously injured for the best part of them. A fantastic player and certainly a contender for player of the season for me as well as Gary Roberts. Nathan Clarke 1-0 Anti-Clarke brigade ;D

Anybody else worry about the way he tries to get around the man and win the ball everytime. He has been turned a number of times attempting this and a higher level against quality players he would have to learn that you cant win every ball and sometimes its better to just hold them up and to not let them turn

To be honest, I've always thought that he was a good player, but he has always been somewhat prone to make regular blunders. However, this season he seems finally to have cut those sort of errors out his game and he is a much better player for it.

I think the lack of guidance all of these young players have had since Yorath left has contributed to mistakes from them all. Nathan shamefully was injured for a considerable part of Yorath's coaching tenure and unfortunately had the likes of Dungworth and Booty pointing him in the right direction... Mirfin was quite decent when Yorath was here but as soon as he went he was awful despite a decent 2/3 month stint when he won POTS. Hopefully now we have a decent coaching setup players like Clarkey will continue to flourish and the younger ones coming through also will.
