From someone who went to the match.
Town did NOT deserve to drop points today. We had so much attacking possession and numerous chances, but we just could not put the ball in the net (sounds familiar!?). Pilkington should have made it 2-0 to u but missed a glorious chance, and even though Stockport pressed and pressed in the last few minutes, they never looked liked scoring!
Cadamarteri looked brilliant, and if he stays fit, he will be the best player in this division by a mile (Leicester would already be promoted had they kept him a couple of seasons back!), and the fellas behind me couldn't resist having a dig at Pilkington despite him having a brilliant game today.
Again, our lack of ability to finish teams off has cost us ONCE AGAIN, and will do until we can find a proven goalscorer who gets himself inside the box and can find the back of the net. Jutkiewicz is not the answer, and has looked very lazy in the past 2 games. I can't imagine any Town fan being surprised at him being replaced by Booth today.
Very frustrating, as per usual, but based on our overall play, we didn't deserve to drop points today.

Wasnt that easy a chance that pilkington missed, at an angle and being closed down, great play between him and collins though to create it. Can't believe you mention that but not Roberts attempt when through on goal

Got a mate who went to the Chelsea Juve game this week on a corporate. Unlimited free booze and food, padded seats AND heaters in the stands. Made me laugh remembering this staring from that dreadful open stand over the cowfield/donkey track that was Edgeley Park. Complete with one tea hut for 2000.
First half we were by far the better team. Pilkington was terrorising them down the right and Cads was giving it the Duracell Bunny all over. Collins goal was a trademark (if inconsistent) drive into the box. 1-0 at ht and we were almost strolling.
Second half though was its usual inevitable self. Pressure mounted steadily against us, wearing us down. Goodwin and Collins went missing as did Pilkington. Roberts was ineffective in the extreme, always one turn, one touch, one trick too many. So in effect our midfield had gone, constantly ceding possession. And despite this we had chances aplenty, all glaringly missed. Lukas runs gamely around, gets knackered after 50 mins and looks like he'll never score in his career. Him That Shall Not Die came on and offered some brief respite, but then started to get less and less service. Smithies was keeping us in the game and the goal seemed inevitable. However when it came it was in such an unexpected spawny way, a whipped cross being touch in by overexcited Nathan. Harumph.
Thought the play-offs were gone after the Yeovil game, but had held a candle due to the freakishly good run of results around us. We've got to do something just plain miraculous now. and when was the last time anything like that happened?
I'm a Clark man, colours nailed firmly to the mast. He's got to to do some work over the summer to mould this lot into a lean mean fighting machine. Here's hoping.

true about roberts he has really gone down hill recently and is very gready... and yes we need a striker but as dean said today nobody else will be coming in this season as enough money spent and we have to cut the wage bill and lose some players but there will be 2 new strikers next season.... but it was a massive improvement from crewe, we looked like the lads has some passion today and played some good passing and link up play at times on a very poor pitch.. so we are moving forward as a club and yes promotion looks very doubtfull this season but god ai can't wait for next season and many more after that with mr hoyle and co.... the htsa meeting was very intresting too ... it has confirmed it today for me what many people have said... dean hoyle is as passionate as we all are for this club and we WILL GO PLACES...but it's just gonna take time.... UP THE MIGHTY TOWN
