Dunno if it's just me, but did anyone else feel that the Stockport fans were pretty much a set of expletives? I know that's it's not all of them, but they definitely have the worst fans i've seen all season (apart from the Leeds). I mean, first of all they only started to sing when they scored. But that's not the main issue. On the way to the ground i got called a four letter word beginning in T and ending in WAT, simply for wearing my Huddersfield top. Then after the game, some fat thug tried to steal my hat, and when i asked for it back, him and his friends threatened to give me a thick ear. Then once i'd managed to retrieve my hat, a grown man who looked quite respectable walked past me and called me a, yes you guessed it-yanker(with a W) This was quickly followed by a red minibus full of Stockport fans attempting to spit at me as they went past, and uttering expletives.
After this a red-mist descended and i clearly intimidated an Stockport fan who was minding his own business-for this i apologise, sorry.
But needless to say, me walking around with a sour look on my face and clenched fists doesn't compare to the abuse i received simply for wearing a Town top. Is that what the world's coming to? Maybe it's just because im young and therefore an easy target.
Just wondered what any of you guy's thought?

I sat amongst them and had a drink with a few both before and after the match and they were as good as gold. Reading the posts today it sounds like the vast majority of the knob heads were following town.

We got called scum walking back to the car. That's the extent of the argy bargy I saw yesterday.
Some woman was chatting to me whilst illegally smoking at half time though and she'd parked up, gone for a wander - then on her return to the car found that someone had taken a screw driver to it. She was thinking it was due to the town kit, stickers etc in the back.

I think their fans were fine. I was in a number of pubs and there was no sniff of bother. They had a few idiots but in terms of numbers I think we had far more out on the day. However I don't mean hooligans, I don't think there were any of our lot out just lots of 15 year old dweebs.

they never said a word to us 300 in the robert peel, I had at least 4 'comments' in there. A couple of which could easily have escalated if I'd not laughed them off. And I had a gang of 12-16(ish) year olds singing at me as I waited for my dad to pull the car out so I could get in. All 5 of them stemmed from my pink Town shirt. Which made me a woman, a homosexual, a man required to masturbate and a transvestite. I know that's only four comments. I was a homosexual twice ;D. I can see why there was a bit of trouble, as if they provoked some elements of our support after we'd conceded a late equaliser in the same way then it was bound to happen.

Somebody spat on me and kicked me on my way out of Darlo's ground this year! Got to admit, I've followed Town for most of my life now and have been all over with them, and this is the only time something like that has ever happened.
Most people are there simply to cheer on a football team, but because every team has the odd barsteward and now and then, somebody has to encounter one of them. The next away game you go to will pass without incident.
Stockport will be bust soon anyway!

Walking from the Sir Robert Peel to the Prince Albert, me and my Dad happened upon a group of scruffy chav looking tossers who proceeded to hurl abuse at my Dad for wearing his colours. Needless to say when i said if they had a problem with us they should have a word with me, they ran like fcuk. To put it into context, my Dad turns 56 next week and i'm 27. Its not the way of the world. Just Greater Manchester.

Been watching town, for 20 odd years. Stuff like this has happend as long as i have been watching town. Doesn't bother me. You just used to it. I would prefer for it not to have happen. But, unless you live in a cacoon wrapped in cotton wool, then you should be used to it by now.

Me and my lad had a load of abuse shouted at us as soon as we set foot on the road at the back of the station from some skinheaded chav driving past in a chavmobile. Sounds like both sides had our share of idiots out yesterday.

We met some Stockport supporter in charge of a person who was handicapped and was taking him to the game. He spotted us parking up with our colours on display and was very amiable to just chat football with us and some other Town fans he collected on the way as we walked by the side of a park.
The gentleman and his charge were very pleasant and happily walked with us to the ground and wished us luck for the match. I've come across some d*ck heads at away games but the Stockport supporter was a decent lad to chat to and a credit to the club he supported.
I must also add that as we were going out of the gate at the end and my kids had got separated from me when a Police lady heard me shouting to them and sussed who I was looking for and pulled them to one side till I caught them up. She was also very pleasant and had a few friendly comments to say.
No matter who you support (and I include Town in this) all clubs have there share of idiots but equally so a good ratio of decent follows as well including Leeds supporters.

Don't get me wrong Geese, i'm sure the vast majority of fans are proper, decent people who just go for the game and maybe a couple of drinks. My point is, why pick on a guy who turns 56 on Saturday and who isn't in the peak of physical fitness? Did they honestly think he was on his own, wearing a Town shirt, in the middle(?) of Stockport?
