How on earth Town find themselves in with a sniff of the p/o with a strike team (Parker, Jevons, Booth) that have mustered 6 league goals between them, is absolutely beyond me.
Maybe a statto can actually show how bad this is in comparison to some of the previous 'worsts'. I may be wrong, but can't recall anything this poor from the strikers in decades...
Even the relegation threatened sides have probably got a better return from their recognised strikers.
A bit harsh to name Boothy in there BTW, seeing as he's been crocked...

Your right of course, its cost us the chance of the play offs... it also shows what a crap league it really is with the exception of maybe leicester as we are still in with a very slight chance and we dont have one decent striker....

As a Hibs fan, I remember when Parker first broke through at St Johnstone. He was the first semi-decent young player that had come through there in years, but it went straight to his head, he seemed to have a really high opinion of himself, which was unjustified by his performances which flattered to deceive.
Don't know if he's changed much in the last ten years or so.

It must be the worst strikerforce in the entire football league (probably ever!)
Add to that Cadders (who apparently was/is a striker) and it makes pitiful reading unfortunately

Really can' believe how poor KP and PJ have become. On the evidence of this season they'll be playing non league football next year.

It might be a bit harsh naming Booth as he's been crocked as you say, but realistically how many would he have scored had been fit. Nowhere near enough to make Town promotion contenders.
You're title is bang on though. It will be impossible to check - but can their be a worse performance in the history of the game than 6 goals all season from Parker, Jevons, Booth & Cadamarteri.

I've been saying this for a while. Unbelieveable we're still technically in with a sniff when we can't score for toffee. With a couple of decent goal-baggers and our wingmen I really think we'd go places.

Why do people insist on saying it is a crap league because on its day any team can beat any other (with the exception of Leicester)?
I'd say the the quality of the teams that came up is better than for a very long time, add to that Leicester and Scunthorpe coming down and the likes of Leeds already in the division then I'd say it is a fairly strong division.
The reason it is the 3rd tier though is that most teams are lacking in at least one department with ourselves being no different

It smacks you in the face really. Almost as much as that bloke from RBS. I imagine he was shocked the day his CFO walked in the office and said...
"Oi Fred, we've just lost a shed load of cash last year, books looked OK last time I looked in February. Looks like we might lose our jobs, but best we get our pensions sorted and make sure we ask Gordo to get the public to foot the bill for our baLLs up. Mind you, I went to see Keigan last week at his new club, looks like he might be a star down there..."

Stick Nathan Clarke and Andy Butler up front, think even there beating our strikers this season for goals.

It shows how hard the rest of the team has worked.
I think the current striker look worse than Alex Dyer, for example, as at least the previous bad strikers had a goal scorer with them to make our strike force look half decent.

After Marcus was sold, Clyde stopped scoring, Smithy got injured and Bruce signed a posse of strikers - Armstrong, Ngonge, Hay (!) who, I believe, failed to score a single goal between them as we failed to reach the play-offs in 1999-2000.

If we had two decent strikers this season we would have challenged for automatic, nothing much we can do now until next season when hopefully its sorted..... Jevons is an absoulte joke to have his name linked with the word " striker " imo..

With the crosses Roberts, Cads and more recently Pilks have been putting into the box this season I think Boothy would've bagged a fair few. If we can still be up there without having a strike threat all season it just shows what we could do next season if we get 2 new strikers in the summer

Don't forget that Dickinson scored six goals; he's a striker! MT - I started the post of with the word "partnership" - 1 man doesn't make one of them, you need someone else to make the other half up... Words fail me tonight...
