Why haven't we given Parker a chance to play with Jutkiewicz? I think that would have been a decent pairing, better than Jevons or Booth or even Roberts up front, Parker has pace, and now hes gone, bit really

We finally get him a big man to play off and then let him go. Pretty convinced he must have had a sulk behind the scenes after not playing Saturday despite a reserve team hatrick

If we don't get a loan striker in I have one question? Does Clark want to go up this season? Seems to me he wants to give the impression that this season doesn't count in order to take the pressure off and give it a crack next year? Other clubs in our league seem to be getting decent loans in. We've had 2 months now since the transfer window opened and we've managed to get an inexperienced youngster who looks knackered after 20 minutes and a French guy who didn't bother mentioning he was contracted to another club. This is not good enough and I'm struggling to see this management team attraction to coming to play for Huddersfield. Dean Hoyle and Nigel Clibbons said at the supporters meeting that the money wasn't there to sign a striker on loan. I think some people are forgetting that we don't have a bottemless pot of cash available for signings, especially when we've got so many highly paid squad members who can't get near the first team. We are paying for Ternent's mistakes in the transfer window, its nothing to do with whether Clark wants to go up or not.

How can we have the money to bid for Graham and Cox and not have the money to bring a striker in on loan? If we are short on cash - why did we buy Ainsworth and Pilkington when Cadders and Roberts are probably our best performing players? Why sign Werling, a French guy who cant play and a young lad who hasnt scored a goal for 2 or 3 years? Doesnt make a great deal of sense to me. We dont need to break the bank to sign someone - look at how effective Crewe's strikeforce were against us (our top of the table standard defence - hey captain? ) Parker was crap anyway, glad he is gone Now we just need to get rid of the 10 or 11 other wasters in this squad to enable us to actually bring in someone who can improve our mediocre excuse for a team

I think Floyds post below sums up my answer to this, no offence but I don't believe this. A half decent striker will cost pittance compared to some of the bids we were making, plus we have Parker's wages off the bill now.

I think there's a difference between signing players permanently who will make a difference for years to come, and getting in somebody for a couple of months as a stop gap. Clibbons has said money will be made available if its too good an opportunity to turn down, I think Pilks and Ainsworth fell into this category.
We can speculate all we want, but on Saturday Nigel Clibbons said we will not be signing a striker on loan because we can't afford to. Therefore I think you're wrong to suggest that Lee Clark doesn't want to go up this season and that its down to him we are not signing a loan striker.

The "bad apple" in the squad, hope he's gone for good but i bet Hartlepool won't want him after a month either.

As far as i know we didn`t bid for Graham, all paper talk. We did make a bid. But you're right that the amounts mentioned in the papers weren't true. I can't say any more, but I do know.

Parker going to Hatrlepool is good business all round & certainly no risk - how can we live to regret it as one poster suggested? Even if he scores a hat trick every game for Pool, he wasn't doing the business for us.
I sincerely hope he plays well enough to get someone interested in taking him off our hands - I hope he scores a bagfull. There will be people moaning if he does, but it honestly doesn't mean a thing, it certainly doesn't mean cos he's scoring for Pool, he'd be scoring for us. He has to use this opportunity to resurrect his career so he should be trying his heart out for them. But will he?
I watched his reserve performance at Bradford and you can't knock 3 goals, but the opposition were so far below first team level it was unbelievable. Amazingly, he didn't look interested either! The only times he looked to put any effort in was when he was trying to elbow their left back, who had obviously done something to upset him.
I'll be the first to admit that I was really pleased to have signed him, but what a major disappointment.

I mentioned this on another thread, but I remember him coming through as a youngster at St Johnstone, he was built up as the next big thing, but he always flattered to deceive. Seemed to have a really high opinion of himself though, I never liked him cos he seemed like an arrogant wee git.
From what I've read on this thread nothing's changed.

Why is it so important we go up this season? I'm happy for him to wait until Summer and us not go up and get someone better than "half decent" than splash out on someone not good enough and probably still not go up.

Hello, Hartlepool fan here.
We are more than pleased to take Parker off your hands and he WILL form an excellent partnership with Joel Porter who has a healthy 18 goals already this season. Sometimes things don't work out for certain players at certain clubs. Wrong place, wrong time?
Maybe a proper man-manager like Chris Turner will bring the best out of a maverick like Parker?
Lets wait and see.

"we're looking to change things around ourselves too..." Who we signing??? Me. I can play in any position and i expect payment in peanuts and cola-bottles. Just need to finalise personal terms.

Becasue who is to say we are going to be in a better position next season. Some supporters already believe we are as good as up next season already. The fact that our main 2 strikers all season have got 4 goals between them and we are still in with a chance of the play offs suggests to me that this league is there for the taking. Whats the point in waiting 15 months for promotion when its possible in 3.
