Not sure this story is a starter as they've just loaned Owusu out because of budgetary constraints.

To be fair there's a bit of Ternent deadwood to be cut out! Considering the calibre of the majority of his signings and to think he doubled the wage bill while dropping the likes of Holdsworth and Nathan Clarke and not even finding a place on the bench for Smithies (probably the best 18 year old keeper in the country!) Worse Town manager ever certainly IMO the worse in 20 years

Another of Stans men bites the dust it would seam.
Stan/Dan/Chris, if your reading - Thanks for Roberts, Goodwin and Butler but the rest were woeful!
Edit - What HuddsTerrier said!

Worse Town manager ever certainly IMO the worse in 20 years For lasting damage, Bruce was worst for what we achieved in relation to what we spent. Ternent was a farce of a manager though. No idea tactically or in a man management sense. Some good signings, some woeful ones. Add to the Smithies point - not offering him a contract... Ternent was the one offering the deals when he released several academy players (fair enough) but left out Smithies from the new deal list. Thank Christ (Hoyle) he has gone.

I think if Stan was still here we'd never have seen Smithies potential and he'd be off on a free in the summer. Then he'd either have been picked up by a higher club who'd realise he was decent and play him or someone at our level would take him and make a shed load of cash. Either way we'd have looked complete numpties. Not that Stan 'Lets sign Paul Gerard' Ternent would have cared.

So did i, not a bad read but now i'm waiting till he gets another management job and then i'm gonna flog it on ebay whilst his new clubs fans get all excited about their new tough guy manager ;D p.s Steve Black's book is better and i would recommend it to everyone not just town fans, if you read that and dont feel inspired then there really is no hope for you!

I was one of the people who stuck up for the guy at the time. Main argument being that we can't change manager once or twice a season and expect to get anywhere.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing though - you can really only base your decisions on what is in place at the time - and it has to be said that ST had very little positive effect on the club. Looking at what is in place now and the vision for the future that was missing before - ST just didn't fit.

I thought Flynn was alright TBH (Until LC took over in which hes hardly played) He was one of those players that knew where the goal was for the first month of the season and no other time

I still rate Flynn over Craney in the attacking centre mid role. They'd make quite an impact for a League 2 team I reckon!
