Totally agree with you, it looks like he has been sucked in though, these players are why Town have been "mid-table" mediocre for the last few seasons yet they have all been offered new deals. Nobody is telling me that there aren't better players Town could attract for the same money that they are on. Holdsworth and co must be earning a fortune all the renewed contracts that he's been given. Average League one player.

The players like Clarke, Collins and Holdsworth have never been the problem. The problems has been the lack of quality players to challenge them for their position.
Rather than completely clearing out the squad (which was what Ternent was trying to do), we need to clear out the deadwood, the players who simply aren't good enough to ever warrant a first team place, and get genuine competition for places.
Its no coincidence that Williams has improved since Werling came in. It's no coincidence that Collins is having his best run in the side with Flynn and Craney waiting in the wings. It's no coincidence that Holdsworth has had his worst season for a while as he's had nobody to challenge him for a place.
I agree with keeping Clarke, Collins and Holdsworth. But we need to make sure we bring in players who are at a similar level to challenge them.
Then we can try and clear out the likes of Lucketti, Unsworth, Kamara, Flynn, Parker, Jevons etc.

About time Dean Hoyle put his hand in his pocket the tight bastard! Players will come and go in the summer, thats fact! Players like Holdsworth, Clarke and Smithies are surely worth keeping on for the future, its the Kamaras, Flynns and Unsworths that are the ones to be rid of. We need a squad remember not just a starting 11! Give it a little time, he aint gonna turn us from the mediocre club that was run under Ternent to promotion chases over night FFS. Patience is required big time cos last night far too many people are starting to turn against him, its unbelievable!

About time Dean Hoyle put his hand in his pocket the tight bastard! quote] Well said - if folk actually realised that running a football club below the level of Man Utd is tantamount to commercial suicide it would probably get them to consider the "clear the deadwood" posts.
