I have to say that I was well impressed by young Tom Clarke when he came on. Improved a whole load since we last saw him in first team action. His willingness to chase down the ball is good, and he has a bit of pace on him. Hopefully on Tuesday Clark will give Tom his chance in the starting 11.

Agree he looked good when he came on. He controlled the ball well and passed it nicely too. Much better than when I last saw him.

He's decent in the middle of midfield but useless at right back

He's decent in the middle of midfield but useless at right back I'd quite like to see him and Collins/Craney paired in midfield on Tuesday against MK Dons... he is more of a defensive midfielder and can at least cover for the defence like Goodwin does?

I rate him more than Craney in the middle.

TC is a central player without doubt... He's oozed potential for a long time and hopefully he can fulfill it now we have a decent backroom team.
I think he has the pace that we lack in the central defence dept.

Pace? He couldn't keep up with the Millwall player at the end in the build up to their goal even though the other player had the ball at his feet. Might be being unduly harsh but I thought in a physical contest like today he looked out of his depth, then again we had little option but to put him on.

Have to agree totally with EastMids - it was embarrassing watching Clarke, without the ball, trying to keep up with the opponent, with the ball. For me young Tom has been "promising" for years now without delivering. Harsh perhaps, but he's nowhere near good enough for a promotion-aspiring team.

The academy isn't allowed to produce players with pace

Should have been berrett or clarke instead of craney in midfield as I said last night.

No-one would have caught their player on the break. TC needs games...lets play him for the rest of the season and see how he goes.

Whatever real strengths Clarke has, and his supportwers seem to have to qualify/excuse everything they say - he most certainly does NOT have pace - never has. For goodness sake he couldn't even get in Bradford's team regularly when he was there. I've nothing against him, honestly, but he's just the type of academy player that we've produced for too long, too often. We give Lukas three games and hammer him - Tom's had three years...

If he's cronically unfit with an unknown medical chronic problem why is he playing

My impressions were that he didn't win a challenge at all and that his chasing back when they scored their second goal was pathetic

He should have brought the player down (on the counter) and taken the yellow card for the team IMO.

Never said they didn't play well - but anyone can see that they suffer from a chronic lack of pace which has been exposed on a number of occasions throughout the season.

Why cant Clark see that Berrett is the best midfielder at the club ? Why did TC come on when Pilks went off then bring Jevo on 5 mins later, surely you'd bring in a forward for a forward and bring on a defensive player to shore it up later if it wasnt working ?

I would say he was more disciplined than our 2 walking yellow card machines in defense and he's a better passer than any of them you mentioned except maybe AH,all he lacks is Collins' knack for getting on the end of things, but as an all round midfielder IMO he's the best we've got
