anyone else have their car broken into after parking on here? I got back from the match today, to find two broken windows, my stereo ripped out, my tom tom, ipod and wallet all stolen from my locked boot as well!
seems like about 3 other cars on the road got the same treatment, did anyone see anything suspicious?

Not sure which alder road is but any of the roads around the ground will get done if you leave anything at all on show, even sucker marks from your tom-tom, me and all my mates have been done, I got done in Jan. Loads of cozzers in the ground, absolute zero outside.

To be fair tho, when you report it the cops are pretty good about it and as thorough as they can be. Even came to check for blood in my car.

best place to park is direct golf, they saay they have clamps but they dont! Or the outside of fmg road side of the barrier - usually room for a couple of cars - initiative people!!

Got robbed at christmas, twats stole my santa sac of 'secret santa presents' for work, and smashed 2 windows. Surley you only need to smash one?
It really makes me angry.
Who's up for setting up a ringer? We can fill the car full of empty boxes (i've got a wii box we can use) and then we can give them a Darren Bullock style talking to.

hiya, not sure about the butchers, but yes i think we're thinking of the same place, it's near the river, and just underneath the railway viaduct if that helps?
They broke the front passenger window and ripped the stereo out. and then broke that little back triangular window, and got in the boot somehow, all i can think of is by moving the seats, or parcel shelf. they then took my tom tom, the front of the stereo, my wallet and my coat.
Still cant believe they managed to do that from such a small window!
To everyone else be careful though, I'm pretty sure someone saw me put all my valuables in the boot when leaving my car, as i had a brandnew ipod in the glove box and that hadnt been touched, they obviously knew what they were going for and that it was in the boot.
also, another woman that had her car done as well further down the street, got talking to her while we waited for the police, and she had her 6year old son's nintendo DS taken out of her boot, so they must have been watching her as well.
edit: by the way, thats the same ipod i thought was stolen in my original post, i had a very nice surprise to see it in the glovebox this morning!! the very fact i had forgotton to move it with the rest of my valuables saved it!
sick B**sds

definantly, and it seems to be a regular occurence round this area according to this thread..
think about it from a thieves point of view though, a whole line of cars, where they know the owner is at the football, and won't be back til 5 o clock, and also most of the police from the town are at that football, so wont be available til 5 either.......a thief's dream!!!

Thing is, whilst the game's on it wouldn't harm to have a couple of patrols in these areas. What else do they instead of sitting in the van drinking tea? If they parked a van at the top of that St, they could still react quick enough to get back to the ground. I'd imagine it would be easier than filling in reports every time there's a game...

Always been sketchy down there. My dad had his car done down there a while back. The Police came and did the forensics and found a hand print that they said would have belonged to a 8 to 12 yr old. Wonderful...

That happens with all sorts of break ins.
A few years ago some scumbag(s) broke into our garage - the window they removed all the glass from was so small they could only have sent a young child or a midget though to nick stuff from inside.

just makes you think though, you'd think moving things into a locked boot would be safe, but i mean just where are you actually supposed to put things now!?
I know people say take it with you, but it's just not practical to carry all that around with you most of the time, and that wouldnt have stopped my stereo being nicked, god would have loved so much to have caught them in the act....
only just managed to get the glass sorted out now, and been out in my car for the first time, and it just doesnt feel the same knowing someone has been in it, going through all my personal things, staring at a hole with wires hanging out and marks from a screwdriver where my stereo used to be isn't helping either :-(

if ur a blue and white member you can park for free next to that 'continental fish' place just off the roundabout by the stadium, and they've got stewards.

i think in future, I'm just going to leave the car at home, go on the bus early and get to the pub and make an afternoon of it.
because at the end of the day, whereever you leave the car, it's still the only place they know you won't be back untill 5 and that alot of police resource's are tied up at the match as well....

Usually park behind Ricky's but parked on Alder St this week, no break in. Feel lucky and certainly won't park there again.

the scummy red light area of the town lol, if you can imagine that timber world place, and the incinerator with the massive chimney, you go through the viaduct towards bradford road, and it's the first left.
