When will people stop banging on about being told to sit down? The stewards at Town are there to enforce the rules & regs that Town have to comply with in order to allow matches with a viewing public to take place. I'm sure they're as fed up as you at having to tell you to sit down for the 50th time, but that's the way it is! Smile sweetly, sit down & then stand up again as soon as they've gone - easy! They know the score. As for the people singing "get a proper job", you're having a laugh aren't you? - BUT ITS NOT FUNNY. Remember (while you're flipping burgers) that without the stewards, there'd be no game 'cos Town wouldn't be allowed to open the stadium. Sorry to have a pop at people, but it really winds me up (& I'm pissed). ps - I'm not a steward

I agree. One bloke got chucked out yesterday and seemed in an apoplectic state about it. It is annoying being told to sit down, but just wait till the stewards have gone and then stand up. Easy really.

But why is it only at our stadium?
The Kop at L**ds stand up for the full 90 minutes. no problem. The 100 odd Millwall fans who came more or less all stood up for the 90 minutes. no problem.
so why are the stewards Tw@ts to us? Isnt it one rule for all?
If they made it a no standing policy in every single ground (except the ones that are terraced).
But it isnt. lots of grounds allow them to stand with no problem! So why not at the Galpharm?

I'd agree with you ruud, but the fact as has been mentioned by roger is that other stadiums don't have the same problem. Many grounds adopt common sense.
Why were they allowing the Millwall fans to stand as they wanted? Can you not understand why Town fans were getting pissed off when they were being forced to sit down in their own ground whilst the AWAY fans could do as they please?

maybe if the stewards made an attempt to make the away fans sit down too people wouldnt be as bothered?if they can stand all game without being asked to sit down, then so can we,it literally is as simple as that-if it was 1 rule for all, fair enough, but so many times this season its been 1 rule for the away fans, another rule for home fans, and its probably that more than anything that makes our fans stand up and refuse to sit down so much, certainly when the guy was being taken out,a couple of people were pointing at the millwall fans and basically saying if you want us to sit down, get them to sit down

Also, why were we allowed to stand up for full l**ds game? And why after chucking that guy out did no-one get told to sit down again???

they probably figured with the leeds game with so many fans in the ground it was easier to just let us stand than risk causing a fight with them

the problem is that the huddersfield fans listen to the stewards because they dont really wanna get thrown out whereas the away fans dont give a flyin feck ...if you get what i mean ... the only way to stand through the match is for everyone to show they have gonads and stay stood up im pretty sure a few weeny stewards cant throw thousands of people out ...its all good when your giving the steward abuse but when he confront's the MAJORITY they back down and sit down whats the point ur lettin them win and have control over you .... just think ... your gettin told what to do by someone who a, cant speak english b, probably still lives in his mums basement or c, a woman (and i dont mean that in a sexist way cause i love women lol) TIME TO STAND UP AND BE COUNTED

Get a proper job! (aimed at the jobsworths - the sound ones just turn a blind eye. I was talking to my mate at half time yesterday and we were laughing about the enforcement of the smoking ban at half time last season and how 'people power' has prevailed this season - great stuff!!)

The stewards at Crewe were constantly pestering us to sit down in the first half. Then after the team capitulated in the second I think they saw that we werent in the mood for them anymore and let us do as we wished.
Just shows how rigourously they apply the law.
