Although he hasn't been of form since his supension, it's encouraging to see him score 2 games running, with both goals being well struck.
I believe if he can build his confidence in front of goal, he could be the 15 a season striker we need to play alongside the elusive striker we are missing.

The problem is he doesn't seem to score when he plays down the middle. He had 6-7 game spell as a striker when we played 3-5-2 and scored 1 penalty. Both his goals this week have come while he's been playing on the wing.
At the moment with the striker shortage we have we have to look at playing wingers up front etc. But hopefully come the summer we can sign a new strike force and leave the wingers on the wings doing what they do best, and hopefully chipping in with a few goals.

Roberts was ok yesterday.
Scored without playing brilliantly. I think we lacked movement yesterday, there were lots of times he had the ball and had to check back due to people just standing flat.

Clearly Gary is a quality player but the fact that he is playing in what is really the 3rd Division tells you a lot. For me he goes on the missing list too much. Last saturday he was hanging around on the left for about 10 minutes in the 1st half without getting a touch and then when the ball got there he was in the middle looking for the ball. Sadly no right foot which cost us at Stockport. Apart from that I really like him Ha.. ;D

Can't believe you're going to the same games as me. Roberts ran his legs off yesterday, as always. He scored what was not an easy chance from a narrow angle. He's the most talented player we've signed for years, he plays wherever he's asked without question and probably puts more miles in on the pitch than any other member of the team.

Roberts has scored two cracking goals this week.... lets give him some credit, imo he still can improve himself !

Pleased he got on the scoresheet again, looks like him and Mickey C have had a word and swapped roles bailing out the strikers again. However I still think he needs to improve. He seems to try and do a lot more that what he needs to, like running from one wing through the middle to the other wing, which clearly isn't extremely effective when you are so one footed. He has the talent, and I know he wants it. I just think he needs to refine aspects of his game. I'd love to see him run with the ball straight into the box and have a shot, because I know he could do it easily.

heart the size of a pea? The smile on his face when playing shows he loves playing for Huddersfield Town. He'll start getting back into his stride after scoring in the last two.

I really like roberts, bags of ability and great attitude. Just wish he'd not try to run through the whole defence on his own and play more simple passes more often.

2 goals when he's been in poor form shows just what an asset he is to us, especially considering that our strikers can't buy a goal. Yesterday he was much improved on the Stockport and Crewe games, and in the 2nd half almost back to his old self. His first touch off a Pilkington pass to wrongfoot the defender was top drawer.
As for him not playing with heart, where did you get that from? Load of crap that does the man a disservice IMO. He plays the game with a serious amount of passion, never stops chasing, runs his heart out, and you can see when he scores how much it means.

i cant belive people slating Roberts, the lads the best talent ive seen for a while at Town so he frustrates us sometimes, but the fact is every time he gets the ball i want to stand up to watch the lad,and look at the joy on the mans face he plays his heart out if you ask me,keep your negative remarks for the shit strikers with no passion
