Based on the last few games in which Town have stopped playing their passing game i am beginning to have real doubts about the ability of our management team. Although a certain amount of the problems are purely down to the fact that we dont have any decent goal threat, i firmly believe he hasade some CRUCIAL mistakes. I want to see him succeed however but i would have thought that with the backroom /coaching staff we have some of the problem areas would have been adressed.
For example did no one advise lee that after tues night LUKAS LAZARUS was not up to the job. Did no one advise that when an injury or suspension occurs its best to replace like for like , ie berret to do goodwins job. Does no one advise that when only one change is necessary dont play people out of position and end up with effectively three or four changes when only the one is required, (ala crewe away)
LLE HAS LET US ALL DOWN IN THE JAN TRANSFER WINDOW. I dont understand the mentality of not bringing in somebody for the sake of it or whatever the turn of phrase he used, but if you analyse it thats what we ended up doing. Its a fact that this tehoue charcater was around the club long enough for them to sign him up long before deadline day, the fact that he wasnt tells me he was plan B as was Lukas. My god if Lukas wasnt a plan B and clark and tyhe team had watched him, then i am sorry but the club is going no where with decisions like that. So all through the jan transfer window we were told no one for the sake of it and we got exactly that no one, effort, presence ability, pace, power, threat. IF he was signed as he was thought to be able to do boothys job then why oh why have we lkoaned out parker who was crying out all season to play with that supposed type player, another clark howler if you ask me. So what does he know that i dont having watched town thirty odd years? I would like to know. Management!!!!! where is it? Any BODY CAN PICK A TEAM AND STAND AT THE TOUCHLINE WAVING ETC.
For all those who think i'm been a bit harsh, yes its his first job and he is on a learning curve, but the team dont seem to learn anything and where as that good football gone? That hartleepool game and IMO the last time we played well was well over a month ago, and we havent played as good since. For what its worth i believe that Pilkington and Ainsworth are good players but the team are playing worse week by week since their arrival. Not long ago we were all wondering why we only played well for 45 mins, now were lucky if thats a total of twenty five. Maybe the constant swapping around of roberts from wing to wing and striker role then back to the wing , and the same with cadders have left them wandering whasts going on, again i go back to the point of unnecessary changes, and poor decision making. Cadders brilliant all season wide is suddenly asked to play the striker job because we all know how deadly he is infront of goal. These are the kind of decisions that win or lose matches and we seem to be making too many wrong ones of late. I agree with slaps the seasons over. Bring back broadbent give him some games and send LAZARUS back to everton with a note saying thanks for nothing.
RANT OVER. typical bloody town aint it.

Think you are being a little harsh fella - clark may be simply trying players out in different positions to assess things for next year. We simply arent good enough to go up with the current squad but he may be seeing certain players are/arent up to various jobs and getting ready for the summer. As an example, i wouldnt have given 1p for williams's chances under clark after the carlisle game. He has however for me been our most consistent player this calendar year and is a success story to date. He obviously couldnt get the players he wanted in jan - mainly because they wouldnt come to a mediocre league 1 team with little chance of success this season apparently! The long term signings promise good things and lukas/tehoue/werling were/are all short term arrangements and opportunities for the various individuals. Some work, some dont - the most successful town managers i have seen have made dodgy transfer dealings (buxton-austin, warnock-whittington, jacko-hudson to name 3). Its part of the game and even fergie has dropped clangers - he has however been given time as i hope clark will be to show that he gets more right than wrong!
