i find it criminal and upsetting that certain fans can question the ability of our management team. jesus christ give the blokes some time did ppl really think we were going up this year after that arsehole ternent???
as for questioning steve black...ppl need to read his book and look at the quotes from other athletes he's worked with, i think some ppl may realise he is good after all he cant work wonders in a few months he is working with human beings not robots!!!
lets just stay behind them.. i dont think clark is enjoying this just as much as we are.

Just because Black is so renouned in sport and has such a CV doesnt mean he can just turn up at Town for a couple of months and make them all into world beaters. Its not as simple as that, it is already obvious the great work he is trying to do.... we have needed to change the mentality at Town for many years now...lets just stay positive and behind the whole club and look forward not backwards !

I will most definitely give them time.... But then I would have given Stan Ternent (and possibly even the post leaner!! ) at least a couple of seasons. What I find interesting is that after approximately the same number of games as Stan & Ronnie the results & football (entertainment ) is just about the same - not looked at stats but feels about the same - with this lot. And yet after about 10 games people had really taken against Stan's crew. This lot seem to be given a hell of a lot more latitude. Why Simply down to Dean Hoyles gift for P.R./communication - or what? ? UTT

The thing with Ternent is that he wasn't really sacked for results. There was stuff going on around the club, he was rubbing people up the wrong way, accusations of bullying, he didn't seem to buy into what the club was trying to achieve. That was why he had to go. Ritchie again, it wasn't just results it was his total lack of commitment and passion for the role.
As far as I know, there are no problems at all with Clark off the field, so no reason not to give him time to get the results right on the field.

If Black was a short term miracle worker, why would we employ him on a long term contract. If he could work wonders in the space of 3 months, he'd be earning £100,000 a week at Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid. I could go on.
Just hope the people that are already knocking the management team, are prepared to eat their words and offer an apology, when Clark and co take us into the championship.

i think its down to stans comments mainly horrible attitude, i used to fall asleep listening to him after the game on radio lee^s, i would have given him more time as i would jacko and even ritchie but clark is a young manager with ambition and ternent was an old dinosaur looking for his next pay cheque.
thats the difference for me and im behind the management team 100% its still early days and the play offs have been dead since harlepool imo but a good clear out in the summer and 4 or 5 new faces and renewed optimism lets see how it goes.

Clark has been here hardly 3 months! He didn't bring in any "quality" strikers as he said he wasn't going to pay well over the odds for them and i dont balme him!
As for Steve Black.... what can you do in 3 moths and without a pre-season? Not a hell of a lot.
Seems to me someones looking for a scapegoat for not making the play-offs and Clark and co. are them. But are we forgetting that when Stan Turnip left us we were 17th and 3 points of relegation?
In Clark I Trust! A few good signing next season and we will be pushing harder for a top 6 even top 4 spot in this league! C'mon lads!

"Stan was sacked for things going on around the club - bullying etc." I accept your inside info. is better than mine, but in a sports related business there will always be those whose noses are out of joint (the so called "bomb squad" in Town's case) I wonder if those rumours & stories would have surfaced if the team had been top of the league? Some of the most successful managers of my life-time (Cloughie, Shanks, Jock Stein, Shur Alex) have appeared to be, if not serial bullies, extremely dominant characters. I imagine Herbert Chapman wasn't exactly a wilting flower either. Not making a case for Ternant (his "Christmas lunch" comments finished him for me ) but simply making the point that on performance alone we don't look a whole lot better than previously (even when Ritchie & Jacko were here) but we (the fans - influenced by the spin coming out of the club) are far more tolerant of poor performannces than I can remember in forty-odd years of watching the team. 3 points tomorrow at Wimbledon will go a long way...... Obviously Clark and Co need to be given time, but most peoples frustrations are down to the fact we seem to be going backwards not forwards in terms of performances. If we come up against a well organised physical side we struggle - the last two games are proof of that.
My worry is that they are so obsessed with playing pretty football that they cannot see when we need to play winning football which in this league is usually fairly ugly (with a couple of exceptions).
I also don't buy into the feeling of some on here that our management team is the envy of most clubs outside the Premiership - Blue Square Premiership maybe. If they were as good as some people think then they would be in the Premiership and not at League One level. As I've said before the only man who's ever rated these guys is Keegan who most on here would dismiss as a joke of a manager - hardly a ringing endorsement?
For me Saturday was the final nail for this season and I'm now looking at with interest what Clark will do over the close season in terms of moving players on and bringing new ones in. However with the level of support he's getting at boardroom level (more than any other Town manager since Bruce) I do expect immediate results from the off. If we're not in the mix at the end of 10 games next season then I might start to think we need a change.

The thing people dont seem to realise is the reason we are so inconsistent is because we have a new manager every season! The players are constantly being told different things and dont know what is the right thing to do now.. We need to stick with someone and wait for them to cement thier ideas to the team - which will take longer than a lot of people seem to think.. The grass is not always greener.

They are the same not quite good enough lot we have had for some time now. Just because the results are getting worse short term doesnt mean we have to sack the manager every time - give him some time to ship some in and even more out and we might actually achieve something.

Clark and his team need to be given time we can't keep making changes every couple of seasons or we will never progress. We have a great chairman elect who has brought in a top quality management team and we need to give them time. For me Clark et al at the right appointments give them time and we will flourish. It may not be over night it may not be next season but it will happen. I would only pull the trigger if we are in serious danger of going down other than that i want to see this team her euntil 2012 at least.

If we're not in the mix at the end of 10 games next season then I might start to think we need a change. If you seriously want to start making changes after ten games into the season you will never get success and thank ffok you are not our chairman or we would never progress. We are all in agreement that the current squad is not good enough to go up. That means playwers will go and players will come in in the summer. Are you seriously wanting Clark to overhaul the squad in the summer then ten games in if it hasn't quite clicked sack him? Are you mad? Rome was not built in a day. Alex Ferguson for example went to MAnchester United in 1986 and didn't win the title until 1993 if the United board had shatred your ten game in mentality Manchester United would not have been half as succesful as they have been under Fergie. I firmly believe we have the right management team in charge and i will give them all the time in they need to get it right. Unless we look like going down i would give them to at least 2012 and then judge them. If we do that I believe we will be a top half championship side at least. Keep chopping and changing managers and we will be in League One forever. Keep the Faith - In Clark I Trust

No, give him some time to sign a couple of strikers and we WILL do something. Just because results are getting worse short term doesn't mean we have to tear up a team that would clearly be doing a hell of a lot better if we had anything like a striker at the club. We're going backwards slightly because we can't rely on midfielders and defenders to score ALL our goals in EVERY game. In 2 of the last 21 games has one of our strikers found the net!! The worst thing Clark could do is to start making the same mistake Turnip did and start ripping up what is a good enough team because he can't see that the only thing letting it down on the whole is it has NOTHING up front. Normal squad preening is all thats needed once we have our 2 proven strikers.

UTT I have to disagree here, for me Town's performances have been (up until the last 2 games) far better under Clark than we have seen for several years. He has also brought in 2 players, one of who will be Town's best player for years, and one who has pace, but needs to add composure and a better final ball (I'll let you make your own minds up on which is which ) I can also see a pattern of play that Clark is trying to play, which again has been missing for several years. With a full pre-season to help fitness (during a season is not the time to work on this) and to work on what Clark wants out of them, I'm sure we will see a much better league postion. Remember where they are starting from though, as some of our lads obviously don't know the rules of football - I'm thinking about where they try & take free kicks from and offside rules! All we have been missing this year is 2 good strikers - with just 10 more goals from strikers think of the extra points we would have had. We would have been right in the play off mix, which is no mean achievement considering the mess (& league position) Stan left us in.

Yep - and that one was from a cross at the same end as well ...(can't recall whether it was a corner again or not) - when, as was the case on Saturday - they should have been sat on it in the corner running down the clock.

Didnt Rodders open the scoring - and it was on MOD that night?
Yeah - typical town!! ;D
The other debate is pointless really - we are not good enough - plain for everyone to see.
LC will either sort it out in the summer, or he wont. But until then.....
