My money is on Pilks already. The boy oozes quality. Very very very impressed. Money well spent IMO.

Haha.. How much do people think we would have to pay for him? £600k.. More than that, we'd be looking at a million i reckon. Im sure it was in the papers in january that we had a 750k bid for him rejected but that may have just been rubbish the fill the column inches

I remember this conversation last season, the general concensus was Jevons ;D

Out of the current players I'd think Pilkington or in a massive turnaround Williams if our defence becomes a promotion chasing defence. But if a striker scores over 20 then there will be only 1 winner.

? Let me get my crystal ball out a minute It depends on who is at the club, who stays fit, who maintains consistency. Who knows?

I dont think it would be a million not only are prices inflated in January, Clark mentioned about a bid and a second bid being reported as being false - I think this was probably reffering to Lambert, which means the £750K-£1mill might not be accurate.

Well god knows how much we've spent this season I mean Ternent signed Flynn, Butler, Goodwin, Parker, Unsworth and Lucketti on "frees" - I wonder what the signing on fees and wages were Then Ternent spent £250k on Roberts, £200k on Craney and c.£100 on Denton That's £450k, plus there signing on fees and wages Then we'd have to pay a settlement for Ternent, Jeppo, Docherty and Liversedge ... plus Booty and Martin would have had there contracts settled when Ternent gave them the elbow There was compensation paid to Norwich for Clark I believe Then we've signed McDermott, Frazackerly, Black and Stevenson all on decent wages I guess LC has spent c. £500k on Pilkington and c.£250k on Ainsworth plus c.£100 on Novak plus healthy signing on fees. So another £850k on fees there then, plus whatever we paid Norwich for LC. I'm probably on high side on the fees with my guess of £1.3m, but suffice to say we've spent over a million on fees and I wouldn't be suprised if we haven't spend a few hundred thousand pounds on settling up contracts and on new player signing on fees! It's been an expensive 12 months. Frankly if we "only" spent £1m this summer I wouldn't mind if only signed two players provided they were strikers

Providing he stays fit, the only contender out of our current squad will be Pilks - the boy will soon be playing at a higher level, just hope it's with us

Roberts needs to be a little less selfish and stop going for all the glory (occasionally) then he will be up there for POTY
