Another who won't make the grade. Always looked decent in stiffs but that is a drop of a few divisions. Good luck Dan.

I think it's good business to be honest.
Give Codman some meaningful games and see how he goes. It should develop him as a player more than playing reserves
I don't see the grade being a huge issue, Crewe will often loan youngsters to the Unibond or similar standard. A fortnight ago there were plenty raving about Tom Pope, I just wikipedia'd him and he was first loaned by Crewe to Lancaster City, then Stafford Rangers and then Barrow, not one even a Conference team.
Codman may not make the grade but I don't see this loan as a bad thing or indicative that his time at the club is up, more part of the learning curve.

HuddsTerrier - I can see where you coming from with your point, infact very valid, but alot of friends of mine play for warrington (they're university students, so it doesnt show a great deal of commitment at that level) and they say the standard isn't great and they couldn't believe Tom Denton was at a football league club, sure we would want our players playing at a higher league than the Unibond no disrespect to it, maybe it is an indication that the back up players in the first team and reserves aren't the standard what we need. I've always had the thing if your loaning somebody out, make sure it is 2 or 3 leagues below. Infact i think i loaned Dan Codman out to stalybridge on fm 09 and he said it was pointless going to that standard of football! :S Well i suppose his relationship with Tom Denton will enhance. There is a plus side to the loan!

My abiding memory of Mr. Codman is watching the tape of the Arsenal match. He'd only been on the field (playing at left back) a relatively short time when he was substituted by Shane Killock. As he came off the camera picked up Stan giving him a real gobful - he obviously hadn't been playing to instruction. I can't remember him being involved at first team level since. Good luck to him & let's hope the loan is as positive for his career as some of those mentioned above UTT

Looked pretty decent in the pre season friendly at Bury and I for one wouldnt be surprised to see him back in the reckoning at some point in the future.....
