Setting off to Milton Keynes shortly, got me thinking to the last time we played there at the hockey ground back in December 2005. We were 2nd in the league I think, going really well, had just won a trickey FA Cup tie against Worcester on BBC, and got drawn at Chelsea on the 3rd round.
We went 1-0 up from an Abbott header early on and then Boothy scored in the second half, we were seemingly crusing to another win, then we go and concede 2 goals and get two men sent off in the last 10 minutes. It finishes 2-2. That game was the first of the 10 or so games without a win, a run that stretched past the Chelsea tie, and we never really recovered from that despite making the play offs in the end.
Since then its been pretty bleak results wise, 3 seasons of mid table mediocrity.
Maybe today we'll get a win and never look back? Maybe the mediocrity is destined to continue a while longer?
Either way I'm looking forward to it.
COME ON TOWN!!

Great positivity paulmat - got me more in the mood now! I'm going to be completely honest - I'll always love Town obviously but were I not living in MK, I probably wouldn't have bothered with tonight. Like everyone I was really disappointed with the 3rd last minute goal in a row, but worse than that - Town were just shocking Sat. Ordinarily, I need a bit longer than 3 days or so to get over that! However, starting to feel a bit more positive now and although I have a horrible, horrible feeling that we may concede another in 2nd half injury time tonight, it's time to sing our hearts out for the lads and do what we always do - endlessly, no matter how awful Town play: support them. It's only just occurred to me but I think I actually take a consolational perverse pleasure out of supporting the side following a string of awful displays! There's something there that makes you feel...I don't know...loyal? I'm pretty sure 'stupid' is an equally good choice of word, but this is Town. Wouldn't change that for anything either! Ok, gonna shut up now. UTT
