It might be my memory but i remember feeling that i could not believe we had got Brandon as he was really hot for first few months until he got sussed out by the opposition ,Does anybody think that Gery Roberts is falling into same category ,Red hot to start with and now becoming a parody of what he was ??
Hope he recaptures his early arrival form

overall I think Roberts is a far better player than Brandon, he used to get me really angry with all his stupid fancy flicks and he used to go round in cirlces.... Roberts form has defo dipped though !!

I can't believe you're even making the comparison. It's like comparing a turd to a golden egg.

brandon has more of less missed a whole season injured , he never reached his potential at town... I can only remember half a dozen games when he really did anything tbh...

Roberts is far a better player than Brnadon IMO - one plays for town, t'other for Bwadford ;D ;D ;D
Thing is with Roberts, he flatters to deceiver at times and can be so bloody frustrating.
It's obvious he's got talent but also no right foot!!!
I've lost count of the amount of times opposition defenders show him to his right foot cos they know he's not particularly good with it.
This is not meant as a criticism btw, I think GR is a fantastic player, but if he had a good right foot he wouldn't be playing 3rd division football.

Personally I think an out of form Gary Roberts, one footed as he may be, is still a lot better than Chris Brandon ever was. I'm not slagging Brandon off, but for me Roberts is a far better player.

Roberts is miles better. He's just had a few bad games since he was suspended, he's still had far more good games than bad for us, and wingers are always a bit inconsistant.

Lets not forget Bolton were interested in Brandon in the January after he had signed in the summer due to the start he had made with us

Roberts is struggling from basically having to carry the team for long periods early in the season. Re him being one footed, I hope he can be encouraged to cut inside and have a hit with his right foot now and again. I'd like to think even town fans arent fickle enough to slaughter him for having a pop with his chocolate foot

A better comparison would be with Danny Schofield. Brandon had very little end product - Schof and Roberts scored more and made more. I still think Roberts comes out on top and probably ahead of our other current wingers too - Lionel, Pilks and Cads.

Did brandon score or assist as many as Gary Roberts has in 3/4s of a season in his entire Town career?
Thought not.
Grass is always greener for some of you - this attempted comparison is ridiculous!
And about Bolton - they wanted Facey at one point FFS!

Switching Roberts shouldnt make much difference, any decent full back will just show him down the outside if he plays right and inside if he plays left. Pilkington tho does seem able to cut in and have a pop

gary roberts is looking more like brandon with his shit form right now. he makes way to many wrong decisions and needs to start looking up!

so does roberts when he plays on the right. he does however seem to have a half decent right foot, its not the fact he cant play with it, i think its more the fact he either daren't or has no confidence in it. hes had a few goes this season with it which have been very decent, i cant think if hes scored from any, but most recently i remember right footed shot from the edge of the area, against swindon i think, and it took a great save to keep it out of the top corner, a nice curling top corner shot.
His recent form doesnt worry me too much, he is a confidence player and his 3 weeks out destroyed that, hes shown more and more each game since coming back, what does bother me is the way in which his excellent freekicks etc seem to have tailed off. considering he came as a bit of a freekick and corner specialist.
i cant help but feel that both pilks and ainsworth coming in and straight into the team unsettled everyone, especially roberts. cant be good new players coming straight into a team thats top of the form charts. and it seems to be then when our form dropped off. we suddenly seemed to lose our balance and width, passing and attacking shape. and to be fair it hasnt come back yet. we apparently signed the two best wingers outside of town, to give us a possible best 4 in the league but we are no longer getting the crosses in or passes?!? (nothing against the two new lads, i like them particularly pilks)

Brandon - League 2 player that punched above his weight for a couple of years.
Roberts - a player with Championship ability but just needs to find his feet again after being dropped.
I know which I'd prefer.

Chris Brandon Vs Gary Roberts - who's the best? There's only one way to find out ..................FIGHT!!!!! Now that i would like to see!!! No contest really, Roberts would just have him running around in circles until he either disappeared up his own arse or he collapsed in exhaustion. All he'd need to be wary of would be a sneaky back heel to the groin. If one of those did come off however it would be amusing to see Roberts' tantrum afterwards
