Can't remember the last home game where we had a convincing performance which resulted in us winning. Tomorrow we need to show that we're not as poor as some recent results have suggested. I think the fans have been terrific this season, and there is absolutely no doubt that we have carried the team through some periods of pressure late on in games, in order to get a result. No doubt the attendance will be down tomorrow, but let's make sure the boys get all the support they need, and in return, they give us a performance to savour. If nothing else, the boo boys need silencing.

Interesting game for a few reasons, 1/ players owe Clark for last weeks poor show. 2/ Cheltenham won last 2 and will be up for it on a good pitch. 3/ pressure not really on us now as realistically we cant go up or get relegated..... might show us just how much work is needed ? UTT

Clark will still want a top 10 finish though and i think thats what at least he should be aiming for from this season.
i think that there might be some changes on saturday so maybe the game could quite more than what we have come to expect.

I think we'll absolutely destroy them. And i'm being serious. They turned up at Leeds for a 0-0 draw and despite absolutely battering them it took us an hour to break them down, after we scored they had no intention of looking for an equaliser, instead contented themselves with keeping the score down (they did have a goal disallowed for offside but that was their one and only attack). We got another but they defended pretty well. If they had really gone for an equaliser I think we could have scored 5 or 6. So a lot depends on how positive they are. I can see you winning 2-0 or 3-0.

I'd like us to play two up front too, I'm sure Clark would. The problem is who.
Definitely need a good performance tomorrow, could have done without Cheltenham finding a bit of form though.

Now I like to be optimistic but I am also realistic, with no strikers to speak of this will be a tough old game tomorrow. Allen will have Cheltenham fired up and they will battle and spoil the game.
The best I can see is a Town win by an odd goal given our confidence and their position. I do agree that it might be a bit tasty with one or two going into the book.
If we score more than 2 I will be pleasently surprised.....

To be honest, im not sure it really matters. Obviously i want us to turn the form around, win some games and play some decent football But if we keep turning in rubbish performances, Lee Clark and Dean Hoyle will know that we need more than just a striker or two if we are to challenge next season. I would sacrifice the end of this season if it meant we weeded out more of the dross in the summer, brought more players in - and gave ourselves a better chance next season, for sure. I reckon we will win 1-0

I agree it doesn't really matter but I think Clark and co now know enough about the squad to know what they need and who they want out.
I have posted on here that this is going to be relatively expensive for DH, all the noises seem to suggest that he is prepapred to make that investment - all power to him for that.

I think the fact that it doesn't matter will relax the players and take all of the pressure off. I'm expecting us to get 3 or 4 so I hope we don't disappoint

Lee Clark basically confirms that the remaining games will determine what happens to some of the players in the summer.
So in fairness, further continuation of this horrendous form may not be a bad thing
Every cloud has a silver lining, and all that ;D

3-0, first time we've won a game by a 3 goal margin since Rotherham?

Me personally - Smithies, Eastwood, Clarke (N&T), Butler, Collins, Williams (had a dream last night we sold him for megabucks to Man City HA!), Pilks, Roberts, Ainsworth, Goodwin, Berrett , Novak , Holdsworth (MF though).

1st team: Smithies, Clarke, Pilkington, Ainsworth, Roberts, Novak(dunno?)
Around the first 11/16: Williams, Butler, Goodwin, Collins, Berrett, TC (i guess)
Out: Glennon, Skarz, Holdsworth, Lucketti, Unsworth, Craney, Flynn, Kamara, Jevons, Parker, Booth,, Worthy, dunno if ive missed anyone?
Replace those guys above with some real quality, and we will have a chance.
All depends how deep Dean's pockets are though int it?
If we buy one or two strikers and a centreback - absolutely no chance!

bare in mind cheltenham have lost their 3 best players this week- ashley vincent, ian westlake and damian spencer. all they've done in reply is try bring in leon constantine, and he might not even sign in time. 3-1 town, 2-0 up and dominating on 44 minutes, chelt grab one back before half time, town finish it off around 70 mins and there is about 6000 people in the ground come full time.
