"I said we would give it our best shot this season, but make no mistake about it - when I get the chance to assemble my own squad with my own group of players, we will go where I want us to."
I know its just words at the moment but that still put a big smile on my face!
Lee Clark's Barmy Army! ;D

Great comments, although slightly worrying that he's started talking about himself in the 3rd person

With all the current publicity surrounding Clough (with the film based on 'our' David Peace's book about to be launched) it struck me the other day that there is a touch of old big 'ead about Clark, in a good way. He clearly has a vision of the type of team he wants and obviously feels this is not 'his team' yet.

Lee Clark's Barmy Army! ;D I think that's the thing we should remember. It's not his squad at the moment. He's only made a couple of signings and one of them (Pilks) is, IMO, the best player we have! Its good to see him bringing in quality young players which will set us up for years to come, rather than Turnents 'kid in sweet shop' attitude, buying every thing on offer (even the out of date stuff) whether we need them or not!
The only problem will be getting rid of the deadwood.......and there's a lot of deadwood!!!!!

To me, this season's deadwood or players not worth keeping even though improving the squad is a gradual process is: Malvin Kamara - Out of contract and gone in the Summer Unsworth - Out of contract and gone in the Summer Jevons - I imagine there will be some takers for him, he has had enough clubs Parker - Ditto - Hartlepool saw enough in him to take him on loan (IMO) Craney - Despite his stamina issues, he has still scored a few and could do a job at a lower League 1/League 2 club (We have better than) Worthington - Yeovil will probably want to sign him and I imagine others will too. Flynn (possibly) - Good goal - game return, had a few clubs before so possibly could have other admirers. EDIT: Also Booth is retiring and Lucketti offers back up for the defence (this season)

I don't think anyone has really 'fallen out of love' (if those are the right words) with Lee Clark. The team has been woeful but he will get it right, I have no doubts about his potential ability.
Chris Fagan getting called up to the U21 squad also sounds promising as well. I remember him from his United days and he seems to have improved on what I saw.
I know the last few weeks have been sh*t to say the least, but we do have a very safe pair of hands at the wheel and feel confident we will reflect on this period of time sometime in the near future when we have secured promotion!

Think boothy may still have a season in him in some sort of role after todays interview....i.e. subs bench now and again. Unforts the chances of losing all of lucketti, flynn, craney and partker are slim given turnips early christmas presents

I'll have to pass on the love-in. At the moment I can't think of any positive effect he's had on the team. It's time for him to stop the talking and start the doing.

Christ capn - do you want him to make a feast from 5 loaves and some fishes or something??!! He inherited some talented but incredibly inconsistent footballers - they were that way for jacko, ritchie added a couple but still the same, stan added a boatload and hey ho same again and now lee clark has to deal with it also. GM got a bit of consistency in results, but face it guys we werent playing a great deal better and we could easily have lost at leeds and brighton under his tenure. Give the guy a chance (and he does have money so no excuses) to reshape things in the summer and then have a moan at xmas if we are languishing 10pts off the play offs. I despair sometimes with the "stop talking start doing" mentality, because they arent his side and once they cross the white line there is bugger all he can do about it. Please, please give the management team some time and full support!

Love is a bit strong!!!!!!!But he says the right things, only time will tell, and time is something that todays football fans don't give anyone! I'll give him 2 years at the least, cos if we don't we'll do f**k all anyway. It might take 2 years to get rid of Jevons and Parker.
