Hoped he would have decided beforehand so we could give him a good send off should he decide to call it a day.

My sentiments precisely. My heart says maybe. My head says no. Boothy's knees say 'please no more, Andrew'.

If Boothy scores another 5 this season, he will move into 2nd on the all time scoring list. And will retire. If he doesn't get 5 he will play for another season. If he feels ok, I hope he carries on. He might not be first choice but it always handy to have around.

Retire, free up wages for someone who can play 50 games a season. If Cads isnt gonna get a contract due to his injuries then neither should Booth.

He might not be first choice but it always handy to have around. Can HTFC afford to keep him, on his (admittedly reduced) wages for yet another season, only as a back up? Wouldn't they be better spent on a Ricky Lambert/Danny Graham type player?

I would love to see Boothy stay on and play but he'll retire.

He's still the hardest working player on the pitch!!! If he thinks his back will hold out, i would like to see him as back up for another season. Then when he retires he should be stuffed and hung on the wall!

But would he even be back up. Novak, maybe Fagan and 2 new strikers.

Wouldn't they be better spent on a Ricky Lambert/Danny Graham type player? If we have four strikers on the books, then two of them will be back ups whoever they are. Danny Graham and another striker will be first choice with Boothy and Novak as back ups. The new kid/Denton/Novak trio are all young kids learning their trade. Who better than Boothy to teach them?

If Boothy retires he want to make it public before the last game of the season.
Doubt I'll travel to Leyton Orient, however if I know it will be Boothys last game, i'll go down just becuase of that.

I think Boothy has a huge role still to play at town, unfortunately, I don't see it being on the pitch.

One more hu hah left in him, he's had plenty of rest this season.
He should only start to think about retiring when he is not out gunning every other forwards in the squad.

Get rid - need to concentrate on future not the past.
Legs have gone - Engine has gone - head has gone.
Give him a job as a coach to appease all you Booth lovers on 1/5th the pay and let him go to corporate golf days on behalf of town.

As a striker you cannot place Cads in the same league as Booth. How many goals has Cads scored in his career or even this season?

I thought cads was changing his stripes when he had that good run in the team.... now look at him again...what a sicknote. he never looks like scoring. Also when Boothy was at Wednesday why did so many people knock him..... he scored goals in the premiership ffs, just jealousy imo, pathetic ! Yeah Boothys a legend even with shot knees !

And this is exactly why Huddersfield Town Football Club hasn't progressed in the last 10 years - hanging onto players that didn't cut it elsewhere or haven't progressed at Town. The club needs a clean break - Clark is in so let's have it now. Start again with youth and build over the next 2/3 seasons - then we'll be ready for promotion. If we went up this year we would be back down in 12 months - the Championship is one tough league - we have the ground, and now the backroom staff - just not the players. And Booth is a classic example of this.

The fella needs replacing but I'm not convinced it will be easily done and until we have an adequate replacement or two in place I'd keep rolling him out to put the others to shame. My pocket money is going on Booth to score first tomorrow.

Many people dont give Boothy the respect he has earned.... just coz hes 35 does not mean he cant play 20 or 30 games a season, he will still score a few and his experience cant be coached...just ask Lee Clark !!

i really do hope that boothy stays. hes town 100% through and through and always gives his all. although he wouldn't manage as many games, he'd still be a useful impact sub, and id fancy him to bag a few more goals. its not as if he's going to get any slower and his heading ability will always be there.
