Alan Knill confirmed following Saturdays 1-1 draw with Chester City that Phil Jevons will join the club on Monday morning. Jevo was at Gigg Lane today watching his new team mates.
After initially joining Huddersfield Town on loan from Bristol City in late November 2007, Phil made the move permanent on Thursday 10th January for an undisclosed fee.
Andy Ritchie had talked about bringing a fourth experienced striker to the Club to compete with Danny Cadamarteri, Andy Booth and Luke Beckett and Phil certainly fitted that bill; having scored goals at every Club he has played at throughout his career.
Starting off with the Everton youth system before moving to Grimsby Town for £250,000 in 2001, Phil has since played for Hull City and Yeovil Town before joining Bristol and looks set to be a great acquisition for the Terriers.
As well as being a natural goalscorer who is proven at this level, Phil adds a lot more to the team with his link-up play and clever movement.
Phil will put pen to paper on Monday morning, and once signed the club will issue a further release with details of the deal along with squad number, plus hopefully an interview.

I do agree specialun. Although he looks lazy he does seem to somehow create space for others.

Is it just me or is that statement on their website about him joining us? They seem to have copied and pasted it from when we signed him and not changed it, it even says 'get goals for the terriers'
Also makes it sound like a proper signing, not a loan??? Have we released him??? Personally think he should have been playing recently

I agree, jevo should be playing for us, unless he's terrible in training or real bad attitude, cause Clark seems to be giving people opportunities, and he does bring things to the team, and does anyone know if it's permanent or not.

If Clark really means what he says then Jevons is no way good enough, no way ! but hope he helps Bury to promotion as I quite fancy a trip over next season... only 40 mins....

Broadbent is back at Town, because he couldn't get in the Gateshead team Yeah but he was apprentice of the year so he is brilliant. Our academy doesn't produce bad players

I always thought that he was underated by the fans. He did create space for others. He held the ball up when there was no one to pass to. He had a good touch, his only problem was that because he would not chase a lost cause down he was deemed lazy. Some fans should look at the ground that the front men cover in a game to understand why they pace themselves. A lot of the time they are receiving poor passes and are expected to make something out of them.

Simply not good enough and clark is doing the right thing for me - get em in the shop window elsewhere so they can move on in the summer. The same is true for worthy and parker.

Will hopefully never wear the shirt again. Funny how people look back with rose-tinted glasses now. He made space for people by never bloody moving therefore there was naturally more space.
Jevons is crap

I'm disappointed in you Specialun, given you rarely express such a bold opinion without a statistic to back it up. On this occasion the stats simply do not support your opinion. Looking at points obtained per game started, Jevons' record is actually below our season's average (1.33 versus 1.34 average). However, there is one player who your comment could really be applied to, whose points obtained per game started is 19% higher than that for any other player. This season when he's started our average points per game is 1.88 (compared to an average when he doesn't start of 1.2 points per game). I'm sure you can work out who it is.

Where has this fantasy assumption that Jevons holds the ball up well come from?
He cant hold it up for toffee. A player more easier dispossed i have not seen. Always turns the wrong way in to trouble.

Very disappointed with Jevons. When he came I was hoping he could be the new Marcus Stewart.....but nowhere near the great man's workrate, invention or finishing ability. We won't miss him.
