If you were Dean Hoyle - seeing our dramatic decline in recent weeks under clark - and his mixed performance in january transfer wise - do you seriously consider how free you are with the cheque book in the summer?
in january i think deano would have signed anyone clark wanted (within reason) but i wonder if the first doubts are appearing - not over clarks future - but maybe over how much money he is willing to 'gamble' on him in the summer. His 'passionate but clueless' touchline persona cant be reassuring!
Fot what its worth i think our fabulous chairman to be will back his man to the hilt.
Thoughts anyone?

Clark has to show that he can deal. We can't just stack new players on top of old so he has to show that he can play hardball and get some players out first.
Give him a wages budget and expect him to work within it, I know others may be offended but he has not inspired me with his ability in the market - YET.

So do I. I'm sure Deano picked him as a long term appointment and will back him for another 12 months unless there are no signs of any progress.
The difficult part is for our fans to do the same as we seem to be getting more and more fickle! We can't keep sacking and appointing managers as regular as we have been because this will get us nowhere.
I trust Deano 100% and will back his judgement - if that means giving Clark all the time in the world then so be it.

I think he will be backed 100%. His permanent signings to date have been ok - pilks looks like he could be a real star here and in ainsworth he has bought potential. Yes the loan signings have been indifferent - werling hasnt made the 16 recently, and lukas has been appalling. To be fair though, he only went for lukas when a number of prior deals collapsed for a variety of reasons - i put it down to a failed last ditch gamble to make the play offs.

I doubt Deano has any doubts.

We signed 4 players in the transfer window, novak for the future, pilkinton who will be a great player for this club, ainsworth who in truth can not be judged yet (on the field that is) and our friend from everton who yes so far looks a dud. As most managers would say january is not the best time to do transfer deals as most clubs do not want to loose their best players through what could be the most important time of the season. Lets see what next season brings with what hopefully will be Lee clark's team as a whole and not what ternent left behind.

It isnt surprising though is it maynard - he was a winner as a player and wants to be so as a manager. Unfortunately, previous managers here left him with a team that is like a rolls royce one week in four and a rag tag and bobtail outfit otherwise - it frustrates the hell out of us fans so it must be sending clark round the bloody twist!! We have tried different formations, changes in positions for some players and indeed a number of different players but we still havent any consistency cos to be blunt you cant polish a turd!

Absolutely shawsie - id be exactly the same on the touchline - or even worse! lukas may have got more than a shirt thrown at him. The point im suggesting is -he doesnt inspire confidence that hes fixing things does he ? i love the guy tbh but he doesnt seem to be in control of whats happening on the field. That is most likely down to the inept footballing brains of our lads but some doubt must exist as to where the blame ACTUALLY lies - just sonething to think about.

Any employer would have doubts after witnessing Clark's antics today.
It's great that we have a manager who cares, but he seems to be operating purely on emotions. What possessed him to play Jutkiewicz alongside Booth in the first place is totally mystifying. That lack of judgment is now lost in the the top throwing business. The other players will have seen the humiliating substitution as a spiteful reaction to what was bad management in the first place and it will have cost Clark respect. No one will believe the post-match claim that Jutkiewicz was paying for the defence's mistakes. The decision to bring him off was a furious response to him feebly allowing a Cheltenham player to spin round him unchallenged. Even Cadamarteri seemed shocked.
None of the coaching staff made an appearance from the dugout today apart from the abject figure of Steve Black who merely stood motionless. Clark's decision to go for the tracksuit instead of smart casual is interesting. I wonder if his frustration extends beyond the playing staff.

No - i agree he isnt inspiring confidence right now but to be fair with the academy lot jackson, ritchie, ternent and now clark have tried but all failed. Ritchie brought in a couple of players no better and Ternent a whole host, some of whom are arguably better but some arguably worse! All in all though no significant improvement! Give him the time to conduct the clear out and bring in the men he wants and trusts and then we can judge - this season is now gone and i just hope a few fringe lads get a chance to show what they can do between now and may.

He's given Tom Clarke a contract. That says a lot to me.
If he wants 20-24 Tom Clarke's - quite frankly - we are ferooked.

I do think that its time the 'fabulous' backroom staff stepped up to the plate to help clarky who does seem to be letting the pressure get to him slightly if his actions and words tell us anything
