At the end of the day, I can't see any reason whatsoever why I would ever give up supporting Town. No matter what division we are in I'll still be there. When my Dad first started taking me to watch Town we were in the top division but within about 4 years we were in the bottom. As we lived in Keighley, my Dad said he'd had enough & couldn't watch anymore so we went to watch Burnley, who were a decent side in the top division. After 3 games there he said that no matter how bad Town were they were our team & we had to like it or lump it.
Yes, this season has been disappointing, as have the vast majority I have witnessed over the last 38 years, but wouldn't you agree that you'd rather watch Town Vs Cheltenham over Man U Vs Chelsea EVERY TIME?
We may be has-beens, but that is better that never-will-bes. History, be it the game on saturday, or our glory days in the 1920s, is what makes our club great - & let's face it we are a truly great football club, no other team in England will ever be Champions of our country 3 times in a row for the first time cos that is what we achieved.
Personally, the best times I have had supporting Town was when we won the 4th division championship, scoring over 100 goals along the way. It doesn't matter what division we are in, it doesn't even matter the type of football we play, all that matters is us scoring more goals than the opposition on a regular basis. That said, if Clark can get us playing the type of football we played in his first few home games, I'd be a very happy man.
So is our current squad as bad as many are making out on here? Course they aren't. We've had a turbulent few years (what's new at Town?) and now we need some stability. Despite all the moans, if we had had 2 decent strikers this season, giving a very modest return of 20 goals between them, we would easily be in the play offs now. 3 or 4 signings pre-season who are 3/4 as good as Pilks and we will be right up there next season.
But I guess how well we do is not the point of this post. I know there will be some who agree with me & some who think i'm mad ... those that want to agree with me great... those who think I'm mad - you're probably right!
Town til I die

I have found that the low's feel lower but when we do well the highs feel higher (if that makes more sense). I don't mind watching Premier League football, but far enjoy watching Town more.
