All the 'reliable sources' seem to include someone who's already left or just been signed up long term by Lee. So, my guess on the summer based on Lee's actions so far. Of course contracted players can only go if they want to or can have their arms twisted and its just an opinion.
Smithies is the No 1 so either Glennon or Eastwood is leaving or out on loan. Holdsworth - see wingers and utility. Nathan - key man, is Lucketti up to it, no, Chris should go. Butler - was a key partnership until Nathan was out so new CB to pressure both. Unsworth definitely off. Williams, beaten off Scarz (another year for Joe as back up), Werling has failed to break in so bye bye. Codman could be off as he's 3rd choice for a specialist slot. Pilks, Roberts and Ainsworth, obvious stayers, goodbye Kamara (so far off a place) but Cads could be the 4th winger so he may get a deal. Wingers though need more defensive full backs, sounds daft but ours are all better going forward than being big nasty defenders so I see that as a nail in Holdsworths coffin. Collins and Goodwin pressed by Berrett, Flynn and Craney, one too many so Lee doesn't fancy Worthy some him and one other to leave and it won't be Berrett. Clarke and Holdsworth are ideal utility players (but Tom is not a right back) so worth a squad place, Holdsworth may not take this offer. Novak should be in the squad, Denton and Broadbent don't seem ready yet and Parker and Jevons need to go as they are out of the picture. Two new first choice strikers and if Parker and Jevons are moved on, maybe, just maybe Boothy could be worth keeping around as a 10-15 minute man or would a young loan (non Everton) striker or a young hungry lad like our triallist be better?
So, a new 1st choice mean and nasty RB, a CB to push Clarke and Butler all the way and 2 top strikers. If Holdsworth leaves and the right quality man can be found a top drawer CM and say goodbye to both Flynn and Craney (neither are Lee's first choice).
You never know, one of the academy newbies may surprise us and thats something we seem to forget - Harris maybe as the 'utility' option?

We need a new centre back with pace to partner Clarke
We need a new right back who is solid, can mark and has a bit of pace
We need a creative midfielder to play alongside Goodwin. As good as Collins is, he creates very little in the way of chances for others and doesnt seem to have the ability to play that killer pass. We need a Richie Wellens type player to open up defences
We need two strikers. One who is decent in the air and one who has a bit of pace and knows how to play off a target man. For two long we have played with two strikers who are too similar. Boothy and Beckett didnt work as both were too slow. A combination of Cads, Jevons or Parker doesnt work as they all drift out wide.
Perhaps a midfield general to challenge Goodwin would be a good thing aswell

sounds like we need a new team.... I honestly only think that....
the following are good enough... smithies, nathan, pilkington, goodwin, cads ( when Fit ) , roberts, so if we sign 2 strikers we then need a left back, right back centre back at least imo....

We need 4-5 players for me, after clearing deadwood obviously.
CB with pace. Natural RB. 2 CFs. At least.

I've heard that Clark is interested in a midfielder from Norwich - Pattison. A creative midfielder with a bit of edge (so I've been told). Started out at Newcastle, played a couple of games then went to Norwich. Played all the games under Roeder/Clark but Gunn doesn't fancy him. Wants to come but Gunn won't let him go at the moment. One for the summer maybe. Not sure how good he is if he can't get in Norwich's team.

The only defender worth keeping is Butler, the rest simply aren't good enough to get us out of this horrendous league. We also need: two new strikers and a good central midfielder.

We need a new centre back with pace, some experience but not too old, and good leadership qualities to partner Clarke.
A new RB to put pressure on AH
IMO we are ok on the wings and in Midfield
That just leaves the obvious 2 Strikers wit Cadds as a bench player for when a game plan needs changing

Oh by the way. I expect Pilkington to become the hotest property outside the premiership next season. So by January we could have 2 players being chased by premiership clubs.

Credit Clark for signing Pilks.... an outstanding prospect imo, enjoy watching him play. Now for some more decent signings in the summer !

The only players I'd say "what the hell is he doing replacing him?!" to are Roberts, Pilkington and Smithies to be honest.
I think some of the others just need extras to enhance their game:
N. Clarke - a competant dominant centre half (pace a bonus) Butler - a quick competant centre half Goodwin - an attacking midfielder who doesn't mind doing a bit of graft and can pick a pass (an example of Collins not being able to penetrate with passes enough is Cheltenham's second goal - his pass straight to the opponents directly led to the ball over the top). Ainsworth - a full back willing to release the ball while he is in space/a midfielder able to put a pass for him to run onto. Holdsworth - to get into the position he belongs (this one might also mean having to leave Town unfortunately).
As for Williams, Collins, any of our strikers, Craney, Flynn, Tom Clarke, Lucketti and the rest - I wouldn't be crushed if they were to leave.

Butler had an indifferent start to the season, a good middle... and is currently having a dodgy finish. The Jury's out!
