Thanks for everything Sir Andrew of Booth.
It's going to be quite emotional on Saturday now.

Although I was expecting it, I didn't think it would be so upsetting! Can't wait for Saturday now to give the man the send off he has well and truely earned.

Possibly 'retire' the No.23? as has been mentioned, no, purely because hes not had the same number all his career with town-9 to start with, 32 when he came back, then 23 for the last few seasons

Booth MK1 was fantastic, especially with Jepson. Shame he never played up front Stewart. A year late I feel but there you go. Hope he can still walk when he gets to my age.

Remember the first time I met him. Was at one of them soccer schools down Leeds Road. Wearing my black & white away kit for the first time (Panasonic REAL sponsor), this way when Town trained down there.
In the afternoon, after a training session, Boothy came along to sign some autographs for the kids, so I got in the queue. As I was waiting I suddenly started to worry, what would I get him to sign? I didn't have a book or anything, and my Dad would kill me if I got permanent marker on my brand new town kit.
Got the front no the wiser, and so grumpishly just asked him to sign my arm, nothing I could do.
When I got home my Dad was like "Why didn't you get him to sign your shirt!"

Well it had to come. For Andy you have made IMO the correct decision. For me and mine. Never ever since we`ve watched you play have you never ever not given this club, its`fans and your teammates anything but that 100 %. It`ll be a sad day for we fans on Saturday when I`m sure you`ll be as emotional as we are going to be? Good luck and God Bless you for your future Ambassadorial role at Town. Most importantly thankyou for the wonderful memories of Boothy Mark 1 and Boothy Mark 2.

A real blue and white hero. I have grown up with Boothy spearheading our attack - will be so sad to see him retire but also glad to celebrate a wonderful career.
Andrew Booth - you have my upmost admiration and respect.

from watching a season of him at beck lane hecky as a raw stringy 16 year old centre forward to seeing him some 15 year later and him walking over to shake my hand i ve always had the ultimate respect for him.a true gentleman loved by all he played with and came into contact with.the man has real dignity.oh and not a bad player too ;D hope we find some role for him think he d be a great assett at the very least at the academy.i can honestly say i think he s one of the best headers of the ball i ve seen at any level.he s been a real credit to his family and our great club.i ve never heard a bad word against him.all the best booovy

Legend indeed
Not often you get days like Saturday - once in a generation perhaps.
4th top appearances, 3rd top scorer. Not a better header of a ball in England imo.
Both spells great memories
Spell 1 ...The young new kid on the block, remember my dad saying 'this young 'un's supposed to be good on one of his first games'....to the rocket ron partnership...that 20 yard peach of a volley v rotherham,....to the play off games and the goal v bristol ....to setting us up nicely in the championship
To go on and make nurmerous eng u21 apps, having an excellent 1st season in the premiership
To becoming a different player ...to grow into a different player, to mature into a different player - Not many players go on loan from the champuonship to the premiership - Boothy did.
Spell 2....Almost heroic in almost keeping us up,....and then in 03/4, leading as the man amongst boys, leading us to promotion, leading the rebirth of the club....the likes of clarke, holdsworth et al looking up to him,....the development of stead, the role along abbott....lifting the cup in the play off final.....to that hat trick at Northampton ....to 6 goals in 7 starts this season.
But more than anything, add to his quality his effort, dedication, attitude, down to earth and commitment to the cause.
A true role model for any young player - Thanks Boothy, enjoy your retirement and the very best of luck!
Saturday will be a sad sad day.

Saturday doesn't need to be a sad day though, its a celebration. What we would all give for a Boothy winner.

Sung to the tune of ‘I wish it could be Christmas every day’
O I wish we could pick BOOTHY every game If the sun is shining or the sky is dull and grey Yes I wish we could pick BOOTHY every game In our hearts he’ll always stay
