Also, why does anyone need to go on the pitch? We haven't won anything or done anything special, basically people are justifying public disorder based on us not having a game at the stadium for a few months? Stay off the field and let the players and Boothy in particular do a lap. Why ruin it just to act like an idiot?

If we'd have a bouncer on this thread asking for I.D, this thread would have a 100% no result.

i went on the pitch last year because i wanted to. who cares if anyone boos? i av been to every game this season so if someone wants to boo i will just piss on there bonfire the part timers Fair play for attending every game this season ...........but if you think it's OK to spoil the day for the majority just because "You want to" then you really are a sad selfish "Davy" who wants to examine his values (Trust me I'm right).

I think a pitch invasion would only be worthwhile if everyone did it was wearing the Boothy masks. I'm still against it, but that scenario would at least make me chuckle.

the only reason to even think about considering a pitch invasion is if we won promotion (lets be honest every teams fans does that) but other than that, theres absolutely no reason for it, and those that do (especially just 'because they want to' or because they think its big and clever) will just end up looking like pathetic mindless muppets, who basically will also show themselves to be stupid for doing it for no reason

No matter what you say it's not going to stop every other person that doesn't read the board. I do agree with you to a certain extent but not to the extremes its going to stop Boothy saying goodbye, I don't think anything will stop that. In my opinion, do what you like i'll worry about myself, them going onto the pitch doesn't gain anything but it also doesn't take anything away and I don't see why it should spoil anything. Are you a steward by any chance stevvy? 'cos that's the only thing they'll have to actually do something this season.

To be fair i wont be going on the pitch or owt, ive grown out of doing that but i dont think it has ever effected the players doing a lap of honour. People run on the pitch, pitch gets cleared, players come out and do lap happens every year!!

Your right again, they (chavs) dont care if they get lots of boo's, they live off it, sad, sad indeed

If Lee Clark has any sense, and providing Boothy is in the starting line-up,LC will sub him on 80 minutes,so he can take the applause unhindered, especially if we are winning the game, and the LEGEND has scored! Then the pitch invasion is irrelevant to all, except the fools who run on!

Next we'll be having a thread explaining why the temperature of the water in the taps is not cold enough or even why the choice of colour scheme inside the stadium is pants.
This really is absolutely irrelevant. Like many have said before about it being just a laugh for some and the players do still come out after the palaver. No one gets hurt, it doesn't offend anyone, yeah its rather silly but why should people care!? And for those that only believe that its acceptable when there is an achievement I really dont understand. So your offended if we dont win anything but if we do that makes it alright? Eh!? Bizarre.
Oh and for the record I do not take part but dont begrudge those that do as it really does not effect me or anybody else and couldn't care less either way.

If some kids want to run on the pitch then fair play to them - it was a tradition that I enjoyed taking part in at Leeds Road and if I was younger now I'm sure I'd enjoy it at the Galph. We used to do it at Leeds Road when we hadn't won promotion or owt like that and nobody booed as I recall. I do remember getting a bollocking from my mate's dad though. I think it was after a game against Birmingham when we ran on from the Cowshed end and were met by Police horses so we quickly turned round and dived into the stand! 1991? Great fun.

I don't think it is even worth Voting on this poll.
Stay off the pitch & stay & give the squad a round of applause, and let Boothy do a lap of Honour!!!

I always enjoy them running on the pitch giving it the big I am, until the police turn up with their huge dogs and watch them all scurrying back in to the stands sharpish!!

A couple of seasons ago I am sure when there was a mass pitch invasion the players didn't come out on safety grounds

I ran on the pitch a few years ago against Leyton Orient, purely because i was excited at the prospect of being on the pitch, and i was immature. There was no reason for it tbh, but i did snaffle a half-empty bottle of powerade, and was fascinated with it at the time lol
Now i understand there's no need to go on the pitch, maybe if Pilks smashed in a screamer against Leeds in the play-off semi-final then i'd run on. But not now, no chance. I'll just try and get my spot as near to the front of the stand, and hopefully catch a shirt or something, if not just clap the legend.

you'll do well to get boothys shirt given he'll likely not even be on the pitch by full time anyway-the only way you'll likely get it is if he throws it into the crowd on the lap of honour or if he puts it up for auction and you win it

I await the threads next week saying 'I got caught on the pitch and the club have taken away my season ticket, here's an aggressive email I've sent them. I only tripped over the barrier and across the field, it was a complete accident.'

taken from the OS
'At the end of the game he will do a lap of honour with the rest of the Town squad and management and we ask that supporters DO NOT enter the trackside or pitch as this will result in the lap of honour not happening.'

It hasn't stopped any lap of 'honour' in the past has it? It's a bit of harmless fun and, as is often the case with young lads, is all over within a few seconds.

And isn't a lap of honour after a season of mediocrity more embarrasing than a few lads running on the pitch for a laugh?
