Slade backs fans to raise the roof Russell Slade believes Albion’s “unbelievable” away support can raise the roof at Huddersfield on Saturday and cheer his side to safety. The Seagulls’ boss is backing our ‘Raise the Roof’ campaign at the Galpharm Stadium which as been inspired by Lloyd Owusu’s unique goalscoring celebration. Albion fans have seen plenty of the big striker’s celebration since he joined the club from Cheltenham Town and Tuesday’s goal in the 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers which lifted Slade’s men out of the League One relegation zone. More than 700 fans made the midweek trip to Bristol and up to 1,500 are expected to head to Huddersfield where victory could complete the great escape from relegation with a game to go. Slade said: “The support on Tuesday was unbelievable, there’s no other word to describe it. “There is a real unity among the fans, players and management at the moment so long may it continue. “I couldn’t believe we had 700 fans down there for a midweek game. Apart from Leeds and Leicester, I don’t think there is another club in this league who would have such a big support. It’s a good job it wasn’t half-term - we’d have probably had another 300 there!” Owusu has been raising the roof every time he scores since he made his League debut ten years ago. He revealed: “It has carried on everywhere I’ve been since I became a pro. “I always remember the day I scored against Darlington and I came out for the following game and all the fans were doing it. “At Sheffield Wednesday at the Kop end you could see all the fans doing it. I always did it at Reading too and hopefully I’ve got the Albion faithful doing it as well.” www.theargus.co.uk/news/4311508.Raise_the_roof_for_the_Albion/

I don't think ive ever heard such a pile of rubbish. Oooo, they took 700 to a end of season crunch game not that far away!! Are there any clubs in this division who WOULDN'T take that many?

I'm more impressed with Bournemouth tbh, taking 900 to chester on saturday and selling out their game against Grimsby this saturday.

Let's hope we beat the sad southerners as a good home sendoff for the Legend.
If we send them down, tough. They'd have no sympathy for us in the same situation.

Alot of Blue and White then. I can see there being a real buzz of atmosphere and Boothy chants sung all the way through the game would be quality.

Should be decent atmosphere then if they are bringing over a thousand, though hopefully the Town focus will be all on Booth instead of the 'your support is ******* **** chants'.

decent fans are brightons to say theyve been in that excuse for a stadium for many years and have had so many knockbacks over the years. i think they should be applauded. the people that deserve the slating are the pathetic plastic arsenal, man u, chelsea fans that line the pubs of huddersfield and beyond these days
