Now I don't know that this is the gospel, but I have heard it from a Bristol Rovers fan that he is certain that Rickie Lambert is coming to Town in the summer. I know nothing more than that, but if I find out anything I will share my unofficial info!!

I just can't see why Bristol Rovers would have a deal in place with us now when they could start a bidding war in the summer.

Clark + Hoyle don't want him. Not for ridiculous money anyway. The only thing that could change their minds is that Boothy has retired.

KleverBoy has heard directly from the horses mouth that we will not be attempting to sign Lambert because even though we are willing to spend big, Deano is looking for good investments, younger players who either hold their value or increase with age.

Why would we wanna spend big money on a journey man who`s only real prolific season has been this season? Not worth more than £150,000.

How many seasons has he been playing 11/12 & he`s managed to score above 13 four times?

I really wanted us to sign him, but having thought about it I think this season will be his best and he will go downhill from here.. I could be wrong but it doesn't matter because I don't think we will be signing him anyway.

How many seasons has he been playing 11/12 & he`s managed to score above 13 four times? actually this is his 10th season (though his first was where he only made 3 apps as a sub so that was probably end of season games when he was just coming through as a youngster) and 6 of those seasons hes got 10 or more along with 1 with 9-you'd struggle to find someone in this league who'd scored say 15 goals minimum for 5 years in a row for example

Sorry but this thread is absolute tosh.My best mates down here are Gasheads and I know people at the club.It just isn't going to happen.IF he was to leave the Gas it would not be for less than £1m.Rovers don't need the money and where would they find someone else who could knock in 30 a season.

He`s had 3 good seasons out of the 10,as for the rest i`d say they were poor, the first 5 seasons he scored 25. In my opinion he ain`t worth than £150,000 & if we signed him it`d be a waste of money, this will be his peak season.

"if a realistic offer came in we'd have a talk at the club" - sounds like they're trying to instigate the bidding war themselves.
