Can't really argue with that decision, he has put in some fantastic performances. I would say however that Robbie Williams is our most improved player over the past 6 months or so IMHO. correct

Well done Nathan you were my choice.I agree though that RW has been the most improved player over the season.

The obvious choice - only one to run him close in my eyes is Gary Roberts regardless of his drop in form a few weeks back.

Still the same team, Managers don't kick the ball do they? play offs is 2nd prize anyway isn't it? and then only 1 team goes up. 1st prize is Automatic and we were bloody miles away from that. Player of the year is a Journeyman defender in a team consisting of has-beens, journeymen and wasters. Not good enough. How can you be a journeyman when you've only ever played for 1 club.....

He doesn't have to play for a load of clubs. The definition of a journeyman footballer is a player who is technically competent, but unable to excel.

Surely someone who was categorized as a 'journeyman' would be someone who has played for a series of different clubs, partaking in a series of journeys on his way to those clubs, hence he would be called a journeyman.
Carl Asaba was labelled a journeyman striker, he had plenty of clubs and had also shown the ability to excel and improve. Nicolas Anelka has also been labelled a journeyman striker, called this by many when he joined Bolton. He then showed the ability to excel, and at the time of writing he is the premierleagues top scorer.
Geoff i think you're wrong.

Correct decision
Our most consistent player throughout the season - consistently played well.
Become the defender we hoped.
Will be the most senior home grown player next season - wouldn't surprise me if he became captain to be honest.

He got my vote, hes been excellent all season..... makes the odd rare mistake. He has really improved his overall defending imo.

Sorry, NotTheToiletRollThief, but it's you that's wrong! It's nothing to do with driving around the country. The derivation of the word 'journeyman' comes from way back when apprenticeships were served to learn a trade. When you finished your apprenticeship you were then a qualified worker who had come through the 'journey' of learning the trade. So you had become an experienced and competent but undistinguished worker.

AWFUL decision in my opinion, what about the likes of Smithies, coming in on his debut and saving a peno at Southend, and drawing loads of plundits. Even Caddas, He's really turned his life around this season, with none stop consistantly good performances, and great determination i dont think smithies saved a penalty in his debut @ Southend last season, i know he did this season but he made his league debut this season at home to Walsall. (he also played in the JPT vs Darlo but thats not a proper competition so we wont count that )
