target men dont get many goals yes they do-boothy has been a target man all his career and hes scored plenty, same with niall quinn for example, as well as others, so your comment is totally wrong

Didn't mean they don't score not prolific scores more creators. His record is not that bad when you take out all the subs appearances

Fair enough target men dont get as many goals as out and out strikers but you would still expect 1 goal in every 5 or 6 games not 1 in every 17 games.

What ever his scoring record to date (if this deal is true) lets just welcome him to the club!
I have faith in Lee C and his team and if they feel that RS is a step up in quality than I for one will respect there decision.
It explains the rumoured Coventry friendly as I wondered why we had requested a game against them also the none league one who ever that is?
Thinking ahead, if this guy is our new Boothy than I wonder who the feed off striker will be?

We should totally retire the number 9 shirt. This season has shown that we can get by without a striker........

Anyone find out how long his contract is?

People writing him off already on here, there's a surprise.
There is no guarantees when signing a striker. Look at Billy Sharp, awesome at this level but can't do it in the championship...would that make him a bad signing?!? no
Look at Gary Hooper. Couldnt do it at Southend but has excelled at Hereford and Scunny.
Jevons and Parker banged them in for previous clubs but are useless for us
Things even change in months. Heffernan at Donny couldnt score for toffee earlier this season and their fans wanted him out...since christmas he has been banging them in.
How anyone can write players off before even having seen them play just because they havent scored 30 goals whilst playing out of position/coming off the bench is daft

Says that he plays on the wings nearly all the time, and when he's actually played upfront, he has one of the best goal ratios at their club. Could be worth the gamble

Cov fans rate him very highly despite his goalscoring record. Sounds like it would be a good bit of business by Clarky if it's true
