Good luck Simon if you play. Seen him several times, not a bad shot stopper but he's still work in progress on his kicking and aerial game. If he has one of his good games he'll be fine.

We do what's best for Huddersfield Town no one else. And if that means giving the squad players a run out, in a nothing game for us, to gain experiance then that's what we do.

Lets put things into perspective for a moment:
If we can't play the less experienced of our England youth goalkeepers in a meaningless game at the end of the season against struggling opposition, when can we?!
If we can't then what is the point in us keeping Simon Eastwood?
I hope he plays and has a good game. I really rate Alex Smithies but I understand he is not the be all and end all of Huddersfield Town - particularly in games with nothing to play for.
Simon Eastwood has my backing to play the rest of this season if needs be.

Has anyone actually considered that smithies may be gone in the summer? Wouldn't you have at least liked to have a look at Eastwood before deciding who to bring in? Or even whether glennon goes or not?
Also your saying it like Eastwood can't touch smithies place in the team, probably because he's worth lots apparently, yet before Eastwood got injured smithies was behind him, Eastwood has looked the better keeper and supposed to be the better keeper for yearsnbut alex got his chance and took it. Not like we are putting our youth keeper in is it. I'd rather he get a game now to settle him in than in the runin at end of a season when we are chasing promotion

given we're playing a team that can still be relegated, to play anything other than our strongest team (including keeper) would be wrong and certainly wouldn't go down at all well with those teams fighting to stay up along with brighton, especially if they were to beat us-we all remember barnsley playing a below strength team against pompey on the last day back in 00/01 when pompey won and that helped send us down, and we werent best pleased with what barnsley did, so to do the same tomorrow really isn't advisable in my opinion It's not like we're dropping Peter Schmeical is it? Smithies has potential to be excellent, but certainly isn't excellent yet. Don't forget Eastwood has represented his country too. I don't really see how playing Eastwood instead of Smithies seriously damages the strength of the team. As discussed on here during the week Smithies cost us a goal last weekend and usually makes one gaff a game at the moment. If Eastwood is to be our regular backup next season then it makes sense for Clark to see how he reacts to playing at L1 level. Better to give him his chance in a home game than an away match too.

I'd like to see Eastwood given a chance. If he has a shocker and we lose 5-0, so what? We've nothing to play for and it will provide a learning curve for him.
As said further up, if we can't play him now, then when can we?!

What Town have always had is a pecking order and Alex been the younger had to bide his time.

Smithies has always been rated more highly than eastwood, but Eastwood has been rated highly himself.
Whose to say in 2 years time, he's our keeper in the champiosnhip whislt Smithies is in the premiership.
Might as well give him the chance now when all attention will be on the legend.

Give him a game I say. Football is more and more becoming a squad game. It's up to LC and no-one else who we pick. All this talk of it not being fair on teams near the bottom is a load of rubbish. The season is 46 games. Not 1 or 2. If you are relying on other teams at the end of the season you are simply not good enough for the division. And I said this about Town when Barnsley played a weakened team in 01. What's to say he doesn't play and have a blinder anyway. It's not like we'd be putting a striker in nets FFS.

Academic debate now anyway, Smithies has been picked.
