From Lee Clark today. Did he even want to win that game? Why were we playing 442 second half with Flynn on the right wing when we have Ainsworth on the bench Should have started 442 in the first place with Ainsworth on the right and Flynn on the bench Clarke and Butler continue to show their excellent range of passing. I thought they couldn't get any worse but clearly they can. Good goal from Collins, well worked and a far cry from the rest of the game. Ah well, look forward to next season but lets hope we never have to play a game where our midfield consists of tom clarke, collins and flynn

i thought butler was poor and tom clarke but its the type of gme you expect when there is not alot to play for. But lets see who we bring in in the summer and kick on from there for next season.

Showed some really good sections of play, but we played like we had nothing to play for apart from boothy scoring! Glad that game is out the way and we can start to build for next year.

so how is it that Clark keeps saying players are playing for their futures, and he expects a good performance,is it because he is quietly spoken the reason they dont hear him,or do they just not listern,or maybe there just shite?

I think the comment about players playing for the contracts is bollocks. Clark knows who he wants next year and who he doesnt

Todays performance on the whole showed exactly why we havent made the playoffs. Am really sad that boothy is to retire as he gave his all yet again. Our defence on the other hand gave away two soft goals, and possession time and time again with crap passing. Like the other post what flynn was doing wide rt second half when we have a natural winger on the bench i do not know. Apart from BOOTHY'S send off and collins well worked goal the ball was up in the air far too long for my liking. Still as always theres always next season.

Or N Clarke and Butler at centre back.

Fair enough it was the last home game for Andy but we have to play to win games ultimatley and can't use the excuse we weren't playing for anything cos with that mentality nothing will ever be achieved, we should play to win every game.

We played very well in two 10-15 periods and they scored a sucker punch twice just as it looked we might get out of sight. We'll be fine next year assumning we sign the right striker(s). Got some decent pictures to put on later too....

As if anyone can say Collins had a poor game - any sniff of an attack came through him and Robbo linking up (usually)!
We would miss him significantly if we didnt have him, his goals speak for themselves.

Or N Clarke and Butler at centre back. Yet again, as I say, we've conceded something like 24 from 23 with Clarke and Butler at centre half since turnip left. Not that bad is it?

Butler didnt play one pass to a teammate the whole game :/ Makes Nathan look like Rio... Manc, he has been like this since he joined. But because he is good in the air that makes it ok for him to continually smash it to no one, miss connect with every bouncing ball, slice it out of play, hook it out of play etc etc. It has been frustrating as hell to have to watch him do it week after week this season. I cringe when the ball is played to him and you can just tell he is lining up a aimless punt upfield. Get a new centre back in alongside Clarke or its over before its started next season

Tom Clark and his brother are not good enough also Williams is far too slow if we want to get anywhere next season then we need a new defence the goals we leaked again today were poor.

I rate Williams. Didn't use to but think he is a very decent left back. Very good on the ball and can pick a pass and also whips some very dangerous balls in. His defensive side can leave a bit to be desired but he was only beaten once today

Lets not get too down hey, we played some decent stuff today, I reckon a second at 1-0 or a third at 2-1 and we'd have won comfortably. I enjoyed the game, and there are plenty of positives for next season, ok so we conceded a couple of poor goals, but Brighton were fighting for their lifes and I don't begrudge them a point.

I agree about tom Clarke. Thought he was impressive today. I actually think we played some very good stuff at times although we should have been 2 down before we scored
Biggest disappointment was butler. He had a shocker

The whole midfield were poor today, not closing down or chasing back, they overran us in the middle. I also thought Butler was poor today. Boothy though, was a star, MOM on credit not on sentiment.

Butler is a clogger. He's ok in the air if he doesn't have to jump - if he has to jump then he'll lose the ball.

The midfield was very poor today. How many years has it been since we had a team that could bully the opposition. Williams was also very poor defensively. He was at fault for their first and gave them two other sitters - one at start of each half. Overall Brighton probably had the better chances in the game.

The only ones i would keep in my 11 next season from that lot yesterday are Smithies, NC, Kelly, Collins and Roberts
Although Williams looks a certainty as well despite another poor game (gave away the corner for their first, and lucky to get away with another mistake at 0-0)
Butler is slow, poor on the ball and doesnt organise or lead the team. He is average (at best) at this level...Nathan is better but we need someone commanding alongside him, judging by LC's comments though i think he realises this....
The midfield three are not good enough either for next season. Collins i reckon will be in the starting 11 but if we have Flynn/TC/Goodwin in there on the opening day i will be very surprised....overrun,, outplayed - how many times this season/last season/season before?
Oh, another goal for LLoyd *14 in 28* Owusu as well
God help us if we had a striker like that - hey?
