i think we missed him today, imo he has a calming effect on the defenders playing just infront of the back 4.
I can understand Clark not wanting to risk him getting a 3 game ban of he gets booked again but i think we look a more settled team with him in it.

Goodwin, Worthy, Clarke, Flynn, Craney
Doesn't matter which one plays as none are the player we need in there if we want to dominate in this division next season
IMO Kelly would be a class act in defensive midfield

Could be that player in a couple of years but isn't quite up to it at present. Send him out to league two next season as it will do wonders for him

I thought Tom Clarke played pretty well He does ok but ok isnt good enough. He is too slow in thought much like Goodwin. They dont see passes quick enough and even when they do they delay and dally and get caught on the ball. We need someone in there who can get stuck in and give the simple ball immediately.

We need someone in there who can get stuck in and give the simple ball immediately. I thought Tom Clarke had an outstanding game today It's amazing how two fans opinions can differ. I thought he had a poor game overall and should have dominated as we had three man central. But Flynn was by far and away the poorest performer. I keep feeling a bit sorry for our back four because ever time they get given the ball the whole team just runs off. This will be improved upon by Clark but have to say it is crucial that we get someone in to partner Collins next season. Berrett is way too slow, Goodwin is indisciplined, Craney is unfit and Flynn is too slow and drifts out of games too much. We are crying out for a Barry Horne mark II. Collins is slowly beginning to look like the player of two seasons ago and hopefully with a good pre-season in him he will continue to develop. Get two good strikers in, then we must sign a midfielder that will demand the ball and make us tick, we could do with a captain too!!!

about 30 seconds before our 2nd my dad said that he thought Flynn hasn't done much, i replied with "yeah but neither has Collins, he's had another one of his anonymous games"
3 passes later and he's stuck the ball in the net!!!!
If Collins could perform for 90 minutes rather than the 5mins that he usually does, we'd have a hell of a fight on to keep him this summer.
Although that said, he's done more in the 5 mins of most games than certain players have managed all season

I thought Tom Clarke played pretty well Me too! Slated him a few weeks ago when he was at right back, but credit where credit's due. Thought he looked far better than Jim Goodwin in there. Admittedly he was part of a three, but he got well stuck in and looked far more mobile than Goodwin ever does and did the simple things well.

I have liked Clarke in the defensive midfield role recently I thought he was possibly our best player against Carlisle and looks a big improvement on what he played like at right back, didn't think things run so smoothly for him today though but it wasn't a bad bad performance from him.

I thought TC had a poor game - no worse than Flynn or Collins (aside from the goal) though
Goodwin wouldnt have done much better. Craney the same
Conclusion is to get one or two central midfielders in the Summer, get rid of Flynn, Craney and Goodwin and leave TC as a useful versatile squad player/back up....

Thats why we have Clark and his assistants, to make decisions re what and who they need, nearly everyones opinion on here argues over who should be in midfield, imo even though Collins goes missing his goal scoring from open play is very good indeed !

Wasn't the worst player yesterday but I can't see him in a promotion-winning midfield. We really do need a dominant midfield player - the like we haven't had for years - because I would expect us to be playing 442 next season.

I'd keep Flynn ahead of Goodwin,Clarke(T),Craney. Think he reads the game a bit quicker and has a better shot on him. If we could get better then let all 4 go, don't think any of them are the answer to our shortcomings in midfield if we're being really ruthless.
