Every time Collins scores his fans are on here saying what a superb player he is, every time he doesn't people say he goes missing. The fact that he splits the board must mean that there are doubts about him? Noone on here is saying anything other than what a great player Pilks is now, noone (except sometimes me ) is doubting Smithies. IMO Collins is superb at making & timing his runs to perfection & his one on one finishing is excellent. BUT I think he does go missing too much, perhaps if we find the right partner we will have a class act on our hands, but we are stll debating the issue so he's not there yet.

Think you are spot on ramone - he splits opinon because he is blessed with really good ability. Those that rave about him point to his goals and those that say he goes missing point to the fact he is a bit on the soft side and disappears for long spells - he has one more season to convince for me. Undoubtedly clark has serious cash to bolster the squad in the summer - with two good strikers and a mobile physical colleague alongside him, there are no excuses if collins doesnt deliver consistently next season - both goals and also in general workrate and play.

Fair play for the 10 goals, he is very cool in front of goal but he will never be much more than an average championship player at best As we are currently in league one he's the sort of player we need then. Although saying that I thought he was awful on Saturday and I can see why people say he can be anonymous.

On the evidence of Saturdays game,Lee Clark is going to have to be busy this summer..Town need at least 7 players to be considered for promotion..Collins is one I would keep!

it's hard to find a centre mid who can score 10 goals!!! FROM OPEN PLAY, NO PENS OR FREE KICKS.
and he only became a regular from november.
he could be a big player next year, braking into the box whilst the defence keeps tab on our new strike force.

As someone said he is cool and composed in the box, and he finds the back of the net. Wish we had more like him.

i've always liked collins, he tries hard and as everyone agrees, his strength is his late runs etc
programme on sat shows that collins knows he has a lot to improve on, he doesn't shout out about his goals etc like others might do, he says that that has come along, now he needs to work on other areas to become the player he should
he also said that he thinks his game would be better suited for the championship, where alot more football is on the floor, so he will not be cut out the game by long balls over the top, he said thats why he wants to be promoted with town.
i for one full agree that collins would be better in the championship, i think thats the reason why he goes missing defensively, if he's made a run forward, it takes a big boot from a deferender and there on the attack, meaning he has to run 60 70 yards to get back in the game, everytime he goes forward

On another thread, someone has posted a link to premiership players out of contract this summer. The perfect partner for Collins is listed..... I would love Ian Ashbee to be our new captain & midfield general.
