Everyone associated with Huddersfield Town is delighted that Dean Hoyle is now chairman and that's good for the club. BUT . . .
Some people are talking about him spending a few million pounds this summer, but can he afford it? Just got the Rich List from the Sunday Times and there is a section for football. The richest owners in League One are; 1. Simon Keswick (Cheltenham Town) £870m 2. Sir Martyn Arbib (Swindon Town) £325m 3. Andrew Black (Swindon Town) £185m 4. Robbie Cowling (Colchester United) £105m 5. Graham Ferguson Lacey (Millwall) £80m
So what is Hoyle realistically worth? When he took over I heard £140m. He has either lost possibly half his worth in the credit crunch or that was a little optimistic. A couple of million to spend might possibly be a little unrealistic no matter how much he loves the club and there are clearly clubs with bigger funds available!

Difference being those people aren't really fans like Hoyle is and he is much more likely to put his money where he is mouth is than those on your list.
With all his assets taken in to account i'd say well over £100 million

If anything the credit crunch is likely to be benefitting The Card Factory. People will be more likely to pop in for a cheaper card than a fancy expensive one what with people having less money to spend nowadays. I think we can safely assume this list doesn't take into account all the assets Deano has available. That, or he has declined to take part in the conducting of the list so that other clubs can't see the brass we have available

I always thought he was worth around £50million, which would fit in with that..

Who cares, he says he has enough to get us out of League 1, so that's good enough for me.
Thing is with Dean, he's a fan of the club, I don't know how may of those on that list are fans.
One thing for sure. We couldn't ask for a better bloke to be in charge.

Maybe he isn't listed as he isn't the proper chairman yet? Wont they have looked at what Davy is worth instead?
Anyway, you dont need £870 million pounds to get promoted to the championship!

Hoyle wasn't in the FourFourTwo list because he isn't chairman yet apparantly. And the last place was worth around £12million or so, which he's clearly worth more than.

It doesn't matter to me whether DH is worth 100 million or no millions. He has pride and passion for this wonderful club of ours, and that'll do for me ;D

Irrelevant if their not fans. Davy's worth more (today) than Hoyle but who would you prefer?
Equally, we need to be sustainable in the long term - Hoyle's investment can't go on forever.,...but with a restrcuturing expert in there (Clibbens) he knows whta he is doing.
Those shares we once had wouldn't go amiss either!
That said, Hoyle's wealth is only going to increase in the longer term - recessions open opportunuities, some can take advantage of those. Card factory was already one of the fastest growing businesses in the UK but with a number of new shops opened and others taken over, Card Factory will go from strength to strength in the next few years.

also just a point but DH wasnt officailly chairman when rich list will have been compiled The rich list is nothing to do with being a chairman or being involved with football. The clue is in the title and anyone with a lot of dosh can get in it So the fact that he wasn't chairman doesn't come into it - he may just not have enough money to be rated in the top 1000.I think the lowest rated had £50 million.

It all depends on how much you would value Card Factory at, which is all very subjective, to say the least
But i would reckon he is 3rd in the original posters list ......

TOWN FAN i refer you to the original post where it says in the football section of the rich list he wasnt mentioned . Maybe just maybe he wasnt considered as anything to do with town when the list was compiled.

I'm surprised Ken wasn't in the list, but I expected Dean not to be. My understanding was Dean is worth about £40million, whilst Davy £80million+.
Maybe all their money is tied up in land, assets etc, so doesn't count?
