Sssshhh don't tell Chazza I'm thinking of going Saturday*
Undecided if best just driving to Leyton or parking up at Stanmore and having a trip on the Underground.
Any suggestions as not been to Orient before.

Park at the Millennium dome / North Greenwich. Massive car park and isn't expensive £3 all day Saturday. Then get the Jubilee up to Stratford then change onto the central line to Leyton. www.tfl.gov.uk/roadusers/tubestationcarparks/default.aspxThe only disadvantage is that you have to drive past the ground on the A12 to get to the Millennium dome.

I'm thinking of parking at Stanmore, as use it for England games at Wembley. Easy to get to straight off the M1.
£1 to park all day...get the tube to Wembley Park, change to the Metropolitan line (a lot quicker!) to Liverpool Street, and then the Central line to Leyton.
If Stanmore is full, (unlikely) use Cannons Park.

I'd advise a trip down the A1 - M11 and just go to Leyton, or somewhere else East London and tube in if you must - rather than North London to Stanmore. I go this way often for work and find it a much better route than the M1. Straight to Leyton this way should take you less than 4 hours door to door from Huddersfield.

I'm driving down an 95% sure i'll be going to Stanmore and getting the tube across. If not, Leyton is on the red tube line (central I think from memory) and if you go down the A1 you can stop just outside London and park in the most northen station and it only takes 10/15 mins from there.
If weather is bad I think thats what i'll be doing as I dont wanna trek across London in't rain

Mate of mine who has driven there a few times has told me to go down M11 and park at Gants Hill. Leyton is only a couple of tube stops from there.

Based on past experience of driving to Orient, I'd ignore any directions given in the Town programme.

We took the A41 into central London from the bottom of the M1. Went as far as Finchley Road and got the tube from there. Street parking is free on a Sat and there's a big shopping centre for the family.

M25 /M11 then A406 / A12 (both duel carriageways) all way to Leyton. Plenty of street parking around, never a problem, or big car Park at Asda retail park

Ignore all this talk about parking up at stations that are miles away.
Believe me there is no problems parking up in Leyton, & you are literally 5 mins away from the A12 which is dual carriageway up to M11 /M25
Stanmore? Epping? Gants Hill? Why???
I don't believe it!!

Best way is to go past Ground (on right) to junction with A106 /B112 & come back up the Eastway (about half a mile)

If I was you I' d come down to the end of he M11 and onto the A406, off at the fist exit and park at Redbridge Tube station, 2nd left. Leyton is 3 stops on the Central line and about 10 minutes on the tube. Do it every day should know the route
