www.htafc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10312~1695171,00.html I'm personally delighted with this signing, he's a big forward who is following the trend of players we need, we have real physical presence now in Kay, Clarke and Simpson. No more Huddersfield being bullied off the ball. Hopefully a few more signings to follow.

Love it. Notice he is re-building the spine of team. Kay big bustling powerful CM. Clarke gutsy physical CB and now Simpson workaholic bustling striker.
Just need Lambert, Eardley, Blizzard and maybe a couple of premiership loans and I'd be very very very happy with the state of the squad!

This gets better and better every signing! Simpson is absolutley IDEAL for Town. A better option than both Sharp and Graham. Lambert would have done the job, but Im MORE than happy with our new big man!!!!!!!!

I'm happy with this. It will be nice to see someone winning a header other than Boothy.

Great news.
We do need at least one more striker though.

This is excellent news. The spine of the team looks solid now and with our pacey wingers dancing up each touchline and knocking balls in all day long we should be able to get a lot more return this season than last

All successful teams have a strong spine to it, this looks like we are on the makings (without bigging it up too much as another striker would be ideal) of having this at Huddersfield Town and all I can say is... ABOUT BLOODY TIME!!!!

He wasnt really played as a striker at Coventry, some of the goals he has scored look to be excellent finishes. very pleased with this 24 year old signing. as people are saying Clark is really making us very strong right down the middle and we have a superb top young keeper. Whos that other team down at Beeston, YOU what very quiet. lol.

Great signing! What's happened to all those 'why Simpson?' people who didn't want him. All I see now are 'delighted he's here' posts!! Great buy Clark, keep 'em coming!

Don’t see what the excitement is about I mean we have a midfield who collectively scored 40 goals at this level between them last year Just signed the best centre back outside the Championship (not my words there’s www.sixplusfive.co.uk/clubs/huddersfield-town/two-pairs-of-clarks-for-ambitious-huddersfield_272.shtml ) Have the best young keeper outside the Premiership Arguably the best management team outside the Premiership Money in t’bank for at least another striker if you’re to believe the £750k bid for Lambert story last month And IMO the best Chairman in the Football League Like I say what’s all the fuss about!

No mention of Collins in that article. Do they know something we don't?

I've got a very good feeling about the Simpson signing - Clark knows excatly what he wants.
Another striker, a right back and possibly another striker and we're sorted....well, part from trying to lose half the squad which remains....parker/jevons/lucketti/ and either craney/flynn

Without meaning to slash on anyones bonfire a lot of the same praise being heaped on simpson was being heaped on Parker last closed season. A lot also thought Flynn and Butler were excellent signings. Can we all just give these lads a chance to show us what they can do and not start building the expectation up again. I'm planning on going in to this season with no expectation on where we will finish and just planning on enjoying the excellent atmosphere around the club at the minute and see where we are come may 2010.

Last summer I said Flynn and Parker were crap journeyman signings. I was largely ignored! ;D I speculate that Simpson will be a good signing and will bag us 15 goals next season but people will be surprised at how he scores them - he'll get in behind defences and finish like a smaller player would and be tame/average in the air which will annoy everybody who is looking for a Boothy clone to . This will cause opinion to be divided on him in the stands with some strange posts on here such as "Simpson scored twice but he's still too soft in the air" There's my Mystic Matt prediction

a 6ft plus ginger centre forward, these have always been successful in my town lifetime so the signs are looking good for me

at first when i saw how many goals hes scored i wasnt too chuffed but after going on the coventry board to see what they say am now delighted, not 1 fan has got a wrong word to say about him and generally think hes championship quality and it will come back to haunt them
1 fan even said hell get 30+ next season for us! heres bloody hoping, another said get your money on hudders for promotion so we must be turning a few heads, cheers deano

I am still not quite convinced fully about Simpson. I will wait and see if he will be fantastic lol rather saying he is awsome signing now etc.
