Look good so far quality not quantity- as last year.
All big strong lads who can hopefully get us out of this division and not the sort to be pushed off the ball with lots of fire in their bellies.
Another one or two needed and plenty of time yet since some are playing the waiting game.
Like the way Lee is playing his cards close to his chest- the only way to do it by keeping us all, and the opposition in the dark.
Money is still tight everywhere and we can't afford to waste it.

I'm totally pleased by what's happened to date Jim. Both Southend and Tranmere fans seem sad to see their respective players leave and Coventry fans acknowledge that Robbie Simpson has been played out of position which has meant his scoring hasn't been prolific but they also recognise he has great potential. I take great store by what fans of other clubs say about players so everything looks promising.
One side of me wants to get carried away into flights of fantasy and start thinking of what might be when these players gel with those we already have but naturally being a Town fan makes me cautious of getting too silly. However, we've definitely not seen the best of Lionel as yet and I believe we've only seen glimpses of what Pilks can do. I also believe we haven't seen the absolute best of Gary Roberts either. Which is very exciting prospect!
It would be brilliant if Lee Novak turns out to be a gem of a discovery but I think he may need time to develop. Ideally I'd love to see Kelly return to the club and another striker coming in, in the Stewart/Philips mold. Skill with killer instinct! ;D

agree entirley ace but regards to novak,i may be in a minority on here but think he is ready providing he has a good pre season in training and can get fit enough, from what i here at times he has torn our defence apart in training and the only reason we got him was him being allowed to be loaned back, scunny wanted him and were prepared to use him straight away,i think he may well suprise a few people next season.

That's exactly what we needed. Quality not quantity. How many did we sign pre-season last year? 10 or 11. The team was always going to struggle to gel. This time around get 4 or 5 class players in the areas that need strengthening and away we go!!

Hope you're right mate! If we can get proven striker in I'd feel even more confident. It looks like the interest in Danny Graham has subsided now so perhaps we've got who we're getting for the time being. Imagine the euphoria amongst us lot if the Kevin Philips rumour was true? ;D

The signings so far have added strength and mettle to our spine. Clarke in defence, Kay in Midfield and Simpson up front. There is still additional players needed in the RB and CF roles IMO but so far so good. The rumour of Graham coming to us seems to have quietened down somewhat, the Phillips one a while ago too... but like Ace said imagine if we did pull off the coup of bringing Kev to the Galph. I will be running around the local village in my Y fronts... nowt new for me.

I agree Phillips would be the best forward town have seen for a long time but he can be out for long periods of time so Phillips may not be the best answer to winning the league

The signings so far have been excellent, for years we have lacked a strong spine to the side and Clark has identified that. Kay and Clarke were their respective clubs best players last season both big strong and hard but have ability as well. Simpson looks to be in the right mould for improving the spine of the team. I don't know enough about him to judge yet but given the excitement Clark has for signing him i'm happy to trust his judgement.
A right back and another striker are a must, Kelly would be a great loan again but looks unlikely. After that what else comes in will be dependent on shifting some of the dead wood.
So far so good.
In Clark I Trust

I actually can't wait for next season, there's a weird feeling in my tummy, a feeling that tells me good things are to happen. But I don't want to be too optimistic. Just annoyed that I'm going to be in Greece with the missus the two weeks all of the friendlies happen I should be happy but can't help wanting to see the new lot playing together before the season starts.
