A maths lesson for lee clark; JOHNSON+WARD+MACDONALD = 100 PTS. simples Wish people would stop going on about Ward!! We've got about as much chance of him playing for us this season as Pilkington! : :

What part of Ward is in Boltons first team squad this season don't people understand. would anyone on here step down two divisions and take the pay cut that would come with it. We cannot afford premiership wages.

Brian Howard? What happened to this rumour? I would say his wage demand would rule this one out.

:suicide: One good game all season and that was against us. The rest of the time he was a complete donkey by all accounts Would confirm Clark signs players based on seeing them against us though

We cannot afford premiership wages. his wages probably arent even that high, he's a 19 year old reserve player at bolton, not chelsea/man city. and players leave prem clubs to kickstart their career all the time. better talents have left the premiership. not that i think we will get him..

The thing is Owen Coyle has said he is part of his first team squad this season based on his performances when on loan last season. I doubt Ward would be too keen. It looks likely we have already kickstarted his career.

Came to us, played very well, knocking on the first team door, and yet some of us seem to still think we have a chance of signing him

Coyle said he will be in his plans this season, no chance he'll be back.

Could we get that lad at Orient? The one we tried to get but couldn't because of his registration dispute?

Could we get that lad at Orient? The one we tried to get but couldn't because of his registration dispute? Tehoe? Played against us this last season at the Galpharm. A bit headless chicken but he looked big and strong. I'd have him as a hold up player for a goal scorer to play off

Isn't Tehoe like Novak but slower unfit and less likely to score? we did well to miss out on him IMO!

I was thinking about the kind of striker who would bring the best out of Rhodes, could potentially score 20 goals himself and is a realistic target. I reckon Jason Scotland is that man. He struggled in the prem but has a good record in the championship and league 1.

Keep hearing about this Oumare Tounkara fella but 7 goals in 44 games is hardly impressive anyone know what he's like?

Jason Scotland would be amazing signing and the 25-30 goals extra we need to find to win the league.

Would have been 2 or 3 years ago. He's now overweight and lazy He would do a job in league 1 still which is where we all need to remember we are. In the same way that Alan Lee does a job? In the same way that Gudjonson does a job? Rubbish His legs have gone completely, and I don't just say that in jest. Alan Lee and Jordan Rhodes would leave him behind in a race and that is saying something If Clark brings him in then it will just confirm to me that he really doesn't have a clue when it comes to understanding what we need up front. We are already tied up with a lot of players not good enough and I'd predict him being another that we're looking to shift on in 12 months time I was against the Donaldson signing, not that we were ever interested, but he'd have been a better option. Far more mobile and also knows where the net is. Yes I'm being a c*** and writing him off already but he is definitely not what we need. Added the fact he isn't on a free and it has all the makings of a disaster If he signs, I obviously hope i'm wrong. If only he'd have signed when Jackson had a contact on the table for him, unfortunately it was a joke of a wage we offered at that time. He is probably now only worth that wage that we offered yet we will be offering trebble that i bet

I think it was Rich Tea that offered him a deal. I think he would be a good signing for this league but would prefer someone better.

well i personally wouldn't dare touch tehoe or tounkara even if we had 0 strikers that we're fit....jason scotland hmm i dunno could get goals but he is definatly a shadow of his former self when he first came to english football... tbh i would go for harewood over him, i think he's younger than him, but he's definatly a more allround striker than him, also has fair bit of pace on him... am sure that with the money from pilks and pelts' transfers we could get a very good striker in... personally i would like danny haynes dunno why... but surely a team like swansea or norwich would have a striker that wont get game time (aprt from cody mac)

i'd swap tehouh for alan lee any day, probably as strong as lee but also quick. scored about 10 goals last season too.
think he would be a good partner for rhodes and probably decent lone striker.
