Anyone watch it last night?
What a bell Gordon is, insult the nice head chef all programme, then get in one of his mates who has a michelin star to erase any trace of the head chefs cooking from the menu and then goad him with "whats wrong are you jealous because he's younger than you".
Ive always enjoyed the programme and good as he is its becoming obvious that all you need to do to change around an ailing business at least in the short term is get Gordon Ramsay to turn up in the first place and advertise it with this programme, something which he doesn't seem to ackowledge.
Oh and Naan tree's rock. They nicked that idea from Akbars and its a brilliant way of freeing up space on the table, admittedlt its a bit of a gimmick but i bet they sell loads more "family" size Naans becuase of them and the naan doesn't get soggy on the bottom. Idiot.

I watched the last couple and much as I hate to admit it I enjoyed them. Missed last night though. It was in Nottingham apparently?
I haven't been out for a curry for years.

He doesn't help that much. The place he went to in Blackpool a couple of series back shut down several months ago.

It was a modern neon lit Indian restaurant in Nottingham called The Curry Lounge

Rich, Kitchen Nightmares is all about very clever editing, much of which Ramsey himself has a hand in as he doesn't want to look like a c***. He can cook though.

He's obviously a great cook and I like him, just didn't agree with him last night. I don't think the programme should do Indian restaurants anyway, he clearly didn't know a lot about the food.

They use a lot of poetic license but I find him pretty entertaining none the less. Mind you, even I could see that the menu was far to big and the place looked like the inside of a strecth limo.

I agree that it was a little odd that after establishing the concept of having regional dishes by getting the chef to do his homestyle Korma (looked a bit too spicy for Sith) he didn't include it in the new menu. I think they struggled a little with that episode as there wasn't so much wrong with the restaurant compared with some he has visited - they'd got on the wrong track with the menu but had good staff and were able to turn things round with minimal fuss. I suspect that the owner must have had a mate in the production company and saw being on the show as a good bit of free consultancy and publicity. Certainly not like some weeks when you can see that the restaurant is on its uppers and the owners and staff have not the slightest clue what is wrong apart from the fact that they are about to become bankrupt and homeless.
njkk- I doubt that Ramsay would talk to any ordinary folk like that (although I imagine that he can probably look after himself somewhat) but why would he anyway?

I liked last week's show with the owner who looked like they'd been a boxer all their life and her husband.

AB,
It just seems that he's very quick to bully the likes of pastry chefs and flower arrangers, but I'd like to see him trying to teach a gang of ordinary blokes how to do cooking, and see if he gets as shitty with them, I think he'd end up with a cauliflowered arse if he tried it on with most folk

The bloke last week was a former boxer and Ramsey wasn't slow to shout at him when necessary. I've also seen him teach builders to cook. He generally seems to get on quite well with them and only really gets shirty with people who don't listen to him.
Most "ordinary blokes" have been brought up able to listen to advice and respect it when it comes from someone who knows what he's talking about. It tends to be the "pastry chefs and flower arrangers" who think they don't need to listen and that's what gets him angry.

(although I imagine that he can probably look after himself somewhat) I saw him at Taste of London a couple of years ago and he was wearing make-up. I'd have him no bother.

oi sith, what have I done?
Ramsay really only swears at people who think they know better than him but obviously don't (otherwise they wouldn't be on the show).

I had exactly the same thoughts about the episode as Rich. Standard actions for Ramsey are... 1. Insult everybody 2. Change the menu 3. Change the decor 4. Promote the restaurant in a wacky way 5. Reap the benefits 6. Go back a few weeks later and say how ace the changes have been. Simple things are, any restaurant in the country that had him in for a week to design the menu would be chocker for a period after, certainly longer than the few weeks he disappeared for. Only a complete baloon wouldn't ride the of the Ramsey and advertise it as such, such as the episod in france where the lass just didn't give a shyte. I didn't cringe as he insulted the chef left, right and centre or everything including being neat and tidy but I thought it was a bit wank. Next weeks looks more like the kind of place this show was made for, all the staff telling him to phuck off and saying they really can' be bothered so it should be much better.
