Why oh why did you think that Brispie would be daft enough to come and see Stoke?
I think Brispie is Banksy the graffiti bloke, because he admitted earlier that Banksy started vandalising buildings when Bris moved to Bristol, coincidence?? I think not
That's the second post today I've done a post with the word coincidence in it

njkk - I gave skoppers the link for this site - but so far he hasn't appeared.
Do you have his email/mobile number? If not I'll let him know you won't be down on 29th.
Pity - I was looking forward to meeting you as he reckons you are a *top bloke*

Oi, latelark . why is Guz called Guz? I'm in a nautical-ergot-etymology mood after finding out why the FAA refer to the RAF as "Crabs".

Fair enough.. but the name originated in the RN. Apparently, the pre (second world) War RAF uniform was of a blue/grey shade that exactly matched the colour of a shipboard unction known as "Crab fat", used to treat pubic lice.

"Guz"- the Navy's name for Devonport, one of its then three main manning ports. "Pompey" for Portsmouth men, "Chats" for Chatham men. If anyone has ever been to the Royal Tournament you will have heard these terms in the Field Gun race

The best bit of the Royal Tournament is/was when the RAF showed off their dog-handlers. They made an Alsatian chase across the floor of Earls Court after some geezer dressed like a terrorist and "apprehend" him. It all went a bit wrong one year or this dog just plain hated his handler as the bloke ended up getting chunks savaged out of him.

Shame that njkk, was looking forward to it - maybe next season at one venue or t'other. Or both.
Bernie - Golf Uniform Zulu was the call sign for Devonport during the war (Second World). Never quite found out for sure about Pompey - loads of conflicting stories.
Incidentally, the FAA are known as WAFUs by the rest of the RN as when they crashed into the sea (commonish occurence in the early days) they were considered 'wet and ferkin useless'.

Bernie, where it says 'member is online' under your username, is that a euphemism for your having a raging trumpet?
