A fine example of a modern Jacobean tragedy, Rich. Anyone who had read Hamlet knew how it was going to turn out.
I like the bit where he bangs on the flat door dressed in his NBC gear.

Not exactly a feel good movie, but very powerful, easily the best film ive seen this year I think.
Yeah that gas mask outfit thing is chilling.

Is that Golden Compass film any good? I am being pressurized by the rest of the Larks to attend on Friday, but I'm not sure

Yes, it is quite good. A reasonably faithful adaptation of the book but obviously has a lot cut out and they've watered down the battle between science and religion rather.
Thinking about going to see Bee Movie this afternoon - I like the story that it started out as Seinfeld telling a joke (hey, wouldn't it be GREAT if they did an animated film about Bees and called it BEE Movie?) and being taken seriously.

I'm desperate to see Bee Movie (solely because of the title) and I guessed that was how the concept arose, so if that is true then I am very happy.
I'm seeing Northern Lights tonight for half-price by texting 'film' to 241. Hurrah!

I'd never read Hamlet so Dead Mans Shoes was an even greater film.
Saw American Gangster recently. That's a very very good film.

The screeching noise from the old treacle factory scared me to buggery when I was a nipper, though

blue is beautiful, blue is best. It also contains some of the best music known to man.
You were scared? pah! my evil parents had a recording on a c60 that ran out beforec the end. Both me and my brother thought that the blue cat won until it was finally on the telly in about 1990.

Well, my copy was on vinyl, actually. I too didn't see the film until 1990 and one of those "Hey, let's watch a kid's film while we wait and see how powerful this acid is going to turn out" moments.
The train had some particularly funky accompanying music as I recall, but I liked the lyricism of the marching song of the blue soldier.
"We go we go we go! We stomp, pillage and burn. We go we go we go! We give people a turn"

I watched Hudson Hawk with that sort of hallucinogenic filter and have only just recovered, i still suspect it was some sort of trick by hollywood aimed at people, particularly me, who'd taken strong drugs.
