We had a gale blowing all night so I held off putting the recycling out until just before I left for work. As soon as I put it out the paper and cardboard escaped down the street and some of the cans were even considering breaking free.

Someone rang BCC up all cross to complain that the bin men hadn't taken their recycling box because it was 'contaminated', according to the card they'd put through the door.
The 'contamination' turned out to have been a slug.
Bin men = squeamish and wussy.

we keep a couple of bin bags full of plastic bottles, which I take to the recycling thingy when we can no longer get into the kitchen
the ones with fibonacci numbers on them can be recycled - maths/recycling fans

They don't take plastic bottles.
We have a black box for paper/bottles/tins and a brown bin for food waste, but cardboard has to be put seperately.
Apparently our main bin is nowhere to be seen, but there are 2 bins lying on the road down the hill. It appears to have eloped with next doors bin.

Recycling? What's that then? Glasgow Council haven't discovered the concept yet.
Wyre Borough Council are much better. We've got a bin for paper, a bin for cardboard and garden waste and a box for cans, plastic bottles and glass.

We have a green box for recycling stuff that they collect every Wednesday - but only if all the glass is together, all the paper is together etc. Can't be in the box all mixed up.
And cardboard is collected separately every other Tuesday - and we always seem to put it out the wrong week so we now have a cardboard mountain
