Town through and through, always plays with his heart on his sleeve. If we can hang on to him i'd give him the arm band every game.

Worthy has doen nothing wrong kamara and i have no problem with worthy!
As for holdsowrth - I've said for three years that holdsworth should be playing in midfield.
I was delighted when ritchie moved him there against the thoughts of the majority on here and equally as outraged when he moved him back to right back in the leeds game (again some thought that was a good idea!!)
For me, he is head and shoudlers above any other player we have and I don't usually give so many plaudits to an individual player, nor criticise an individual player.
As i said before the game, he should be the first name on the teamsheet in central midfield - without doubt.
Thank the lord ritchie has realised this!
The debate whether he is better at right back or centre midfield was (is?) a joke.
Today's performance shows he should be kept in midfield at all costs.
Energy, confidence, heart but its his reading of the game, breaking up play, confidence on the ball, looking to get on the ball, play fast high tempo football, two touch pass and move which make him, for me, as perfect a central midfielder you could get at this level.
Glad a few more have come to their senses!

Definitely proved he should be first choice in centre midfield with his performances in the last two games. Absolute class. Don't think Collins should be played at right back again though, he's just not a defender. Shame we don't have two Andy Holdsworths

..... and more importantly Holdsworth said in his programme noted today (I know I shouldn't buy one) 'Midfield was my position when I was a young lad but I was moved to rightback under Peter Jackson. However, the Gaffer has come in and moved me back into central midfield and I'd like to thank him for that. Full-back was a hard position for me, as I'm not that good at defending! Having said that, I will play anywhere as long as I'm being picked' He also says he thinks this switch was down to Dungworth & Murphy as they know he plays best as a central midfielder

I agree worthy makes a fine captain kamara...as would holdsworth.
Wouldn't really say worthy scores goals but he defines a terrier for me!
Holdsworth with worthy *should* be a great combination - my reservation is who sits...as this takes a bit out of worthy's game but you cannot restrict holdsworth. So of the two, worthy would have to take more of a sitting role.

try thinking about writing a response youre self andyhudd unless youre andys dad I was only agreeing with Polish. He was the topic originator, the idea of his point was to see whether people agree or disagree. I agree personally. I think Holdsworth can never be faulted for his work rate, one of those players who always gives his all. I think he sets a good example to the rest of the team, you always want a hard working captain to mold a hard working team. I also feel Worthington doesn't have a lot wrong with him as being Town's captain goes, the only fault I can pick out - his disciplinary record. He gets booked in an instant when coming on as a sub. He's also quite injury prone. We need a captain who's more or less ever present ideally. Better? Andy.

The point i'm making is his goal scoring record is not prolific as a midfielder which you seemed to imply was one of the reasons he should be captain- 13 goals in 197 games in midfield. Neither is holdsworh's as a midfielder - 2 goals in 25 games. But goalscoring isn't a reason to make someone captain - and as i said before, i'm very happy with worthy as captain. I'd be happy with holdsworth as captain equally.

i know what youre saying but do you not think worthy breaks up play better with his crunching tackles and is more of a box to box midfielder ps holdsworth is a good deputy though

Who is currently fit and playing regularly? Bit of a no brainer that one Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I think they're both excellent captaincy material but Holdsworth's ever present, whereas Worthington often goes missing, injured or suspended. I agreed with Polish's initial point although I think Worthy's an excellent captain, Holdsworth is (touch wood) always available. Andy.
