I think we all suspected it. A shame, but understandable, we can't be giving out premium wages to less than premium players. Thanks Lee for all you've done for the club

No great shock given the offer has been on the table since October. Thanks for the goals and hard work though Lee. Yet another player bought for money but leaves at the end of his contract with us getting no money.

We need to bring in 4 strikers.....that's where the money is going to have to go.

This has already been done to death in recent weeks, but I for one am sorry to see Novak go. In his time with Town, he's always been an honest grafter who bagged a fair few goals, but even his staunchest supporters must accept that he doesn't have the talent / ability needed to prosper in the Championship. He might blossom late, but I doubt it. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up, hope he gets fixed up with a L1 club. Lots of luck for the future Lee, thanks for your efforts.

Yet another player bought for money but leaves at the end of his contract with us getting no money. How much was the transfer fee when he came in tho'? £450k rings a bell? For the goals he's scored, you can't say we've not had value for money from the lad. Most assets depreciate.

A good buy in my opinion and hope he finds a Club where he features regular.
Was well impressed with him the first time I saw him against Southampton in 2009/ 2010 season.
We looked to have a really good, enthusiastic front line of Theo, Rhodes and Novak. All scored for fun at the start of that season, it was great to watch, espeically after the dross we had enjoyed in the previous campaigns.

Thanks for all the effort, hes done well but the clubs much bigger than someone who cant agree terms, hes average at best... good luck Lee, enjoyed watching you and some nice goals. so we have no strikers at the present time, a new era at town. UTT

It'll have been a much smaller fee for Novak, there's no way we'd pay so much for a player from the Conference.

Just not clinical enough in front of goal an when chances are at a premium in the championship we need someone you can rely on to bury it.
Where does anyone see him going? L1 or champs?

Would have loved to keep him as a squad player, but he could easily be starting for most teams in League One so if he's gone for footballing reasons, fair enough. Clibben's comments suggest is more financial based though, in which case I'm glad the club have stood their ground and were only willing to offer what they thought he was worth.
Cheers Super Novak, I'm sure our paths will cross again!

joining up with wearside jack at birmingham?
sad to see him go but not a big loss from a football perspective.
not sure we need to sign 4 strikers, would rather sign 3 quality ones with carr/other youngsters as 4th.

Two dots which are easy to join, but if we can't afford him, can they?

Great value signing was Novak and a very decent player for this club. Played his part in the last 2 games setting up Vaughany for 3 goals and leaves on good terms.

Not a surprised, contracts been there for months, can only assume someones offering him more money or he wants more money.
Expect him to join one of Hibs or Birmingham

Would have been slightly bothered if he'd left had we gone down but I can't see us regretting losing him at this level.
Danny Carr is our new non league wonder boy now

No room for sentiment in football. He's a good honest workhorse however he is not good enough for the Championship and thus doesn't warrant a Championship wage.

Fair play to him if he thinks he can get a better offer elsewhere, not sure he will though, reckon LC or maybe Eddie Howe will be the only Championship managers who will be interested. Definitely one of my favourite players during my time watching Town though, and although he was a bit lacking in quality, he always gave 100% and played with pride.
Will always remember talking to him, being absolutely smashed in Varsity on 'that' night in Town after the Wembley final, and him telling me he would streak through the Town centre if we got promoted to the Prem.
All the best to him and hope he finds success elsewhere.
