No chance and why would southampton let lambert go after scoring most of the season?

If this is true, do you think we have lost out on Vaughan ? or just strengthening even further. Would be some forward line, hope we get the same strength at the back.

Not a chance, why would Lambert drop to Championship, he could easily get another Premier league team if Southampton wanted rid (which I don't think they do), likewise Le Fondre would be snapped by a one of the many teams who can out bid us

Why would Reading want to get rid of a proven goalscorer at this level?

Would be a top signing if it is true but I can't figure out why Reading would get rid of a ready made striker for this league? He'll probably help himself to a right hatfull this season if he starts at Reading.

True mate I was clutching at straws more than anything but you never know. With a new manager at Southampton too he might want to shift a few on so Adkins could move for Lambert and shift ALF?total guess work really, but we can hope!

Would be a good signing if true but why a season long loan and not a permanent transfer? As for Lambert, I could see that happening - Adkins his old manager - he may not fit into Sotton's plans long term and he's how old?

what would the pre season be without an ALF posting - if only Kevin Phiips had been spotted coming off the M1 at J38 then I could have shouted Bingo

Dunno what truth there is in the rumour but they usually only play with one striker which le Fondre isn't at all suited to so who knows? I do think they'd be daft not to keep him around for when they want to change things but I imagine he probably wouldn't be happy with the supersub role.. He didn't seem happy with it in the Premiership, never mind the Championship.

He wasn't good enough for us in league 1, what's changed? I am joking of course, he has proved himself a decent poacher at higher levels including the premier league and for that reason I can't see why he'd join Town?

Hmmm interesting.
A so from left fielder it could be true or tactic to flush Vaughan out.

Anyone saying he is better than Vaughan is a bit daft, you just can't compare them
One is an awesome link player and focal point of an attack
The other is pretty useless in general play but an outstanding finisher

He is more Rhodes-like than Vaughan. A clinical finisher. Just what we need. Vaughan and ALF would be arguably the best front 2 in the league, so fingers crossed no matter how unlikely.
